Tic.. tic.. tic..

Biting on the cap of my pen, my eyes glance at the clock that showed 13:09.

One more bell.

The teacher spoke swiftly about an upcoming project but I just glanced at outside through the window, bored.

"Ack!" A loud coughing sound brought me to my senses as i glanced to the back of the classroom filled with a bunch of red nosed teens, lately allergy season has been worse than usual as almost 70 percent of the population is experiencing symptoms.

Wrinkling my nose in disgust i glanced back outside.

"Margo?"

Margo flinched, turning her head to Louise.

"Class is over, let's go to 7th period." Louise smiled as she draped her bag over her shoulder.

Nodding, Margo grabbed her bag and walked after her.

Margo rubbed her forehead sluggishly.

"I might be getting sick too.." She half whispered to Louise as she looked at her wide eyed.

"No way! You've never had allergies before." She giggles out, it's true though. She's never been the type to fall ill.

"I'm not sure, i just feel kind of off, you know?"

"Yeah, I totally understand, come to my place after school my mom made some soup to help relax with finals anyway."

Margo nodded to Louise as they both sat in their 7th period class.

"Ok class, turn to page 96." The teacher scowled out. He was an old man with the face of a raisin and a hunched back, it was honestly surprising just how he was able to make it to class to teach every day.

As everyone turned their pages one couldn't help but notice most of the class had pale complexions, most sniffling and blowing their noses here and there.

Whispering softly Margo reminded Louise.

"Make sure to start wearing a mask, although you aren't sick now doesn't mean you won't catch something later."

Louise softly laughed, making a strange face at Margo as she turned back to her book.

Furrowing her thin brows Margo couldn't help but take a few more glances around the class.

The feeling in her gut that something was wrong was even more prominent, making her slightly agitated.

Class ended soon enough, the shrill and sharp bell piercing the ears of all the students.

Walking down the hall full of students going home Margo and Louise shuffled through.

Suddenly, a sharp scream penetrated the noisy hallway full of laughter and talking, silencing the students into looking around alarmed.

"What was that?"

"Who screamed?"

Multiple students started questioning, while the braver ones started to look around.

That agitated feeling in her gut suddenly surfaced again, making Margo's face turn grim.

"We should go." Margo spoke to Louise who held onto her sleeve.

After receiving a nod from Louise they started to make their way through the crowd and to the exit.

"Shit!" Someone suddenly yelled out catching their attention.

It was a youth who was also in their last bell class. He had fallen to the ground in front of an open classroom door.

"What the hell did you do?!" He shouted out as he shuffled away catching the attention of the students in the hall to gather around.

Inside the classroom was a student hunched over the old teacher, the harsh sounds of tearing flesh and swallowing made the students watching scream out in fear.

The girl with blood all over her face and hands looked up at the noise sharply and an inhumane screech came out of her throat before lunging at the students who backed away sharply, the crowd running away.

But it was too late. The girl grabbed someone who was a tad bit slower than the rest and panic was struck into all the students, screams and tugging broke out in the small hallway.

"Let's go!" Margo burst through the doors, thanking her intuition of getting to the doors before whatever the hell just happened broke out.

"Margo! What the hell was that?" Louise's trembling voice asked out even though they both knew they didn't know what happened or why the girl suddenly attacked everyone.

Making it to the school gates they both realized the whole street outside was eerily quiet.

Banging suddenly sounded from their side before students rushed out of the side exit of the school, madly rushing towards them in panic.

"Open the gate!" A tall student still in his gym clothes ran to them a group of students rushing behind him.

Louise rushed and pushed the button for the gate to open, the gates creaking as they slowly drew open.

Rushing out the gate the youth finally caught up as the three ran out Margo grabbing Louise's hand not wanting to be separated.

"Go to the right down that alley!" The youth shouted to them as they ran down the small alleyway.

Running as quick as her legs could take her Margo's mind flashed with everything that's happened so far. Just what the hell is going on?!

Turning down the alley the youth rushed in front before opening a door on the side, all three of them rushing in.

"Just what is happening.." Louise gasped out.

"I don't know. I was in gym class before someone came rushing in with blood all over them. When everyone was gathered around they suddenly lunged at us! They bit the teacher.. then the teacher bit my friend. Just what is going on?" The youth burst into tears as he grabbed his hair and shrunk to the ground.

Louise and Margo looked at each other as panic slowly set in.
