Toya's heart pounded along with the beat of the music that flooded the room as he looked to his upperclassman.

Both of their dates had run off to the bathroom, just in time to leave both boys standing awkward and alone for the slow dance.

Of course, there was no rule saying that they only had to dance with their dates. Rui extended a hand with dramatic gusto, painting on a playful grin, hoping it would hide the nervousness he felt.

"Care to dance, handsome?"
With a soft smile, Toya hesitantly accepted the offer, feeling like a complete idiot for being so out of his element.

He took Rui's hand, and after giving him one last look to make sure he didn't feel uncomfortable, he followed him onto the dance floor.

They began slowly, dancing awkwardly as their hands fluttered about without having a clear rhythm.

After a moment or two, Rui broke out into laughter, making Toya's cheeks flush slightly.
"You're not exactly good at this are you?" The older boy teased, a playful smile playing on his lips.

Toya frowned, trying to think of something witty to say but coming up empty. He couldn't help but notice how close Rui was getting.

His breath hitched when his arm pressed against Rui's waist and the taller boy rested a hand on his shoulder. Their eyes locked, each staring longingly at the other.

Before he could overthink it, he placed his free hand on Rui's hip.
The older grinned softly, his expression softening further as Toya pulled him closer.

It wasn't until they saw Akito and Tsukasa approach them just in time as the music came to an end. Toya swiftly pushed the other boy away, trying to cover his unusual embarrassment with a few fake coughs.

As if sensing the tension between the two boys, Akito shot Rui a glare, his eyebrows raised. The purple haired male just chuckled nervously.
