His shadowed eyes shifted from mine to Sophie's, flicking his head towards the hall as an indication for her to leave. She didn't need to be told twice as she scurried out of the room, only glancing back at me once to give me an encouraging look. I knew she wanted me to tell him, but I shook my head at her as a response.

The door closed softly behind her once she was gone. I could feel Noah's intense watch burning into me. I looked up at him from the bed and he took a step closer into his room. "Sky-"

I cut Noah off with a wave of my hand, not in the mood to talk about my past any longer, and wanting to put the small argument behind us. "It's okay. I just never thought...I over reacted. Don't worry about it."

He nodded his head with acceptance, walking over to his dresser and opening the top drawer. A neat row of dark coloured shirts welcomed his eyes as he scanned over the contents. He pulled out a black t-shirt and tossed it over to me.

"Wear this until we get some clothes for you." He rummaged through another drawer in search for what I could only assume as his own clothing for himself.

I gripped the thin fabric in my hand tightly as my stomach knotted in nerves. I had forgotten I was meant to spend my nights in his room from then on. I looked around his room as if an unseen force would somehow allow me to escape. The sound of the dresser drawer clicking shut had my eyes gliding back over to Noah. His back was faced to me, the muscles tense and strong under the thin fabric of his t-shirt. He headed over towards his welcoming washroom, stopping at the door to face me.

My eyes immediately shot up to his and I could feel a deep blush crawl up my neck as I was caught starring at him. His eyes darkened and a small smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. "I'm going to take a shower. Care to join?"

The blush deepened and I averted my eyes immediately, trying to whip the steamy image from my mind with a shake of my head. He chuckled deeply before closing the door behind him. I remained still for a moment with nothing but the small item of fabric in my hands before I made a move to stand up from the comfortable mattress.

The sound of water being turned on filled the silent air and I cautiously removed my clothing, intensely watching the bathroom door to make sure Noah didn't emerge from it. Slipping the large t-shirt over my head I pulled at the ends, pulling the shirt as far as it would go. The dark cotton engulfed me as if I was some form of diminutive animal being drowned by the dark fabric of Noah's shirt. Opposed to the shirt ending at Noah's waist, on me it ended at my lower thighs, hiding a burden of my tangled scars-for which I was thankful. I wouldn't know how to explain myself if Noah noticed such things.

Taking my previously worn clothes, I walked over to the large closet, opening the doors to empty the dirty clothing into a dark ebony hamper. I walked back to the bed, carefully plucking the black sheets away from the pillows and sliding to the far left. I stared at the ceiling, unsure of what to do next. I placed a soft hand over my nervous torso, as if I could ease the nerves by simply acknowledging them. I had never shared a bed with anyone-nevertheless an intimidating Alpha who claimed me as his mate.

I heard the shower shut off moments later, sending my heart into a crazed frenzy. I turned my back so it was facing the washroom door and shut my eyes, pretending to sleep. I forced my uneven breaths into steady long ones, learning the trick that came in handy when I would forge sleep when my uncle came home late at night-praying the small act would rid me of a beating for the night. My heartbeat increased furthermore with the memories.

The door opened with a soft click and my nose was wafted with the pleasant scent of fresh, masculine soap. I unconsciously deepened my breaths in hopes that the scent would increase. The padding of Noah's feet grew louder as he approached towards the bed, stopping momentarily at the edge of the mattress. I could feel his intense gaze on my body causing my heart rate to spike dangerously high.
