An Argument & A Lie

Natalya scowled deeply, staring at her sister as she cut into her well-done steak. It had been two years since the 'incident,' and the only person whom knew what Natalya went through was Natalya. She didn't want anyone else to know of her experiences just in case they were to look for it themselves. (She also didn't want to be counted as mad either. That was one visit to the loony bin that Natalya would like to avoid.)

She was 18 now, and a spitting image of their late mother. Long semi-wavy blonde hair, vibrant sky blue eyes, the stature of a strong willow and a glare that could kill. She was a hardened young woman now, but always curious just as before. Really, the only true thing that changed was her appearance. She was still the same curious and scary Belorussian Wonderland had fallen in love with. She was the perfect Empress for a perfect world. Natalya yearned to go back. She wanted to be with Lovino, Feliciano, Matthew, Alfred, Yao, Mei, Elizaveta, everyone! Even Arthur!

'Anywhere but here,' She thought sourly, stabbing her steak repeatedly with her fork as she watched her brother and sister chat silently. Her eyes connected with her brother's violet orbs and he quickly averted them.

"What?" She asked, noticing her siblings kept staring at her. "What are you two talking about?"

Irunya and Ivan were sitting on the far end on the large table that could seat 100. Her sister had a few silver barrettes in her blonde hair, had a white dress on, and was speaking in a low voice. She looked angelic, with her wide dress that was low cut and Victorian-like. She reminded Natalya of a porcelain doll.

'She's fake like one too,' Natalya thought bitterly.

Her brother wasn't wearing his usual long tan scarf, which surprised Natalya since she and her sister had made it for him. Instead he wore a dark crimson satin button up underneath a black vest and a dark brown waistcoat. He looked dashing, Natalya had to admit, and she wondered why.

"It's nothing, my dear sister," Irunya said in her sickly sweet voice that she used to converse with around children. "Please, finish your steak."

Natalya scowled even more. She was not a child, and she hated to be treated like one.

"Not until you tell me what you two are conversing," She stated stubbornly.

"Your older sister ordered you to finish your steak, so you finish your steak," Ivan hissed. Natalya blinked in his direction, a bit shocked. He never spoke so rashly towards her, not since the incident.

"I believe I was speaking with Irunya, not you Ivan," Natalya said, hostile and cold. "And do not regard me with such hostility. I did nothing to you, dear brother. I do not want to be treated as a child."

"You're acting like one," Ivan hissed.

"I am not. You are the one butting into conversations that aren't yours!"

"Natalya," Irunya said rather sternly.

"What? Am I supposed to sit here and take this harassment? From my own family? You both are treating me as a child! I am 18 years old! That is no where near being a child!" Natalya said, trying her best not to raise her voice. She failed, and gradually got louder. "We are a family! Family understands one another! Do you not think of me as an adult? Is tha-"

"Natalya Darja Alfroskaya, you do not raise your voice at me! Finish your food!" Her sister roared, cutting her off.

Natalya was in a state of shock. Her sister never raised her voice at her! What changed? She scooted her chair back and stood up, throwing the cloth napkin onto her untouched plate of food.
