A lot more people have read this than I was expecting.
Whoa.
I styled this chapter after a song called "everything's alright" from To the Moon.
It's such a cute and sad RPG
Hey, don't forget to comment! I really like reading them!
And I mean really, really, really like reading them!
Much love,

The White Queen stared into the mirror with dismay and sadness. She put a hand on the mirror slowly, lovingly. "I won't let them hurt you. Not like they hurt Heracles," She whispered softly. Tears stung her eyes, causing her to step back and console herself. Alone with only her mirror reflecting a world she would never know, Monika had nothing left to do but sob. She covered her mouth with her handkerchief and lifted her head as she heard the door slowly open. A moments hesitation on both parties gave the room an uneasy silence, as if waiting in anticipation. Both eased when they realized whom the latter was.

"Emil, you scared me," Sighed Monika, looking back down. She wiped her eyes and took a seat on the white ottoman. The pale faced, blonde haired knight bowed stiffly before entering the room. He wore not his white armor, which was usually shined to a pearly white, but rather a white sweater, boring white pants and a scarf. His cheeks were dusted a bright red.

"It's rather cold outside, m'lady," Emil said, approaching the woman and putting his scarf around her. "This'll warm you..." He was thanked quietly. Emil's bright violet eyes were full of concern as he noticed the tears that were threatening to escape her eyes. He put a hand on hers. "M'lady," He began. "You seem distressed. Do you want to share something?"

"Natalya." She said, after a moment of silence. "She's much older now, and she seems to be at a loss right now. Oh, what I would give to help her! She was so sad... Oh, Emil." The queen hugged him tightly, shocking him a bit. She cried quietly into his chest, him holding her closely. Usually the two didn't seem fairly close aside from their occasional conversation through the kingdom's halls.

He had been working for Sir Arthur when they had first met. Arthur had been arguing with Julchen for some unknown reason. Monika had wandered off and Arthur sent Emil to go find her. She had wandered into the maze of the garden they had. He could still fondly remember the conversation they had when he had found her that night.

'Mi'lady, your sister is awaiting you.' He has said, approaching her slowly. Her shoulders were slumped, and she was sitting on the ground. She looked up at him, her eyes full of a feeling he had felt too often. He had sat besides her, a little closer than he should have. 'M'lady, are you alright?'

'My sister and I have been fighting a lot since the little one* left.' She said, looking over at him. 'And why's that?' He asked. 'I had told her my dream of leaving this world to go see another. The little one's world! Can you imagine how amazing it would be?' She had laid her head on his shoulder, slumping on him slightly as she looked up. He had just sat there, not really knowing what to do. 'She said it wouldn't work out, that I wasn't cut out for it. That's probably true, huh?' She laughed a bit. 'Gosh, I could look at this moon forever.' He nodded.

'She's lonely.' He said. She looked at him. 'Who?'

'The moon. She misses the company of her dear lover, the ocean, but her husband- an arranged husband- wouldn't allow it. The ocean makes reflections of the moon to show her how beautiful she is and how she shouldn't be so lonely, but they're so far apart. They've tried their hardest to get close, just for a kiss, but the waves rise too high and the sun burns too bright with anger. They had vowed that they'd love only one another and when they're to be reunited, that they'll finally be happy. They still wait for that day, and hope.' He had said, reciting what his mother had one told him when he asked about his dad. He didn't understand it at the time, but it made sense now. She sniffled besides him.

'Oh, Emil, that was beautiful.' She said, smiling at him through her tears. She dabbed her eyes with her handkerchief. 'I hope they meet one day.'

"Me too." He muttered. Monika looked up at him. "What?" She asked, confused. He put his hands on her shoulders. "Everything's alright. When the sky is no more, when the moon is all we'll see, you and Natalya can finally be happy." He removed his hands only to grab hers tightly. "Her story is not the one of the moon and the ocean. Hers is so much more bright and important, and you're apart of that. Mei is apart of that. I'm apart of that. If you're with her, then everything's alright."

She smiled at his words. "Promise?"

"Promise."
