Sammy's breaths were shaky as she thought of her sisters on the car ride from the airport to the ranch. The hum of the old trucks engine and the music on the radio seemed to take a bit of the noticeable edge off her thoughts.
She was going home after six months of running from dinosaurs, and she was excited to be heading home but also didn't want to leave her friends it was like she was split in two when it comes to them. One family she has known all her life and the one she made on the island.
As the truck came to a stop at the ranch house Sammy saw her sisters sitting on the chairs that were set out front. As she stepped out of the truck with her father Carmen and Isabella got out of their chairs, and ran to the truck she could tell that Carmen was crying as she tackled Sammy to the ground. Sammy wrapped her arms around her sister's broad frame as she let tears fall freely.
Isabella stood by her father's side her phone recording the two chuckling slightly. "Carmen let your little sister breathe. I know you missed her, but you didn't need to tackle her to the ground."
Carmen got off her sister glaring at the other sister "Sorry Sam." Sammy just laughed and said "It's fine. I would have done the same." As the four walked into the house Sammy saw a familiar old Shetland sheepdog who started barking and ran to her and licked her "Hey Juni. I missed you sweet girl." Juni looked up at her and ran into the living room and grabbed an old toy bone Sammy had made for her when Juni was first brought home. The paw print fabric was torn in some parts but overall it was intact.
Sammy smiled being back with her family it felt good to be back.
