(So a very OOC Khonshu. Like, boi is obsessed with Isie. Annnd a lot of flippy floppy. Ngl I can't help it. Halfway throughout this I got writers block. Thankfully I have such an amazing person MidnightAce88 to help me! Especially with title covers<3 )
A cry. A plead. And the young child was answered. The child was given two questions. Worship a god for eternity in return for eternal life, or refuse and die in the hole she was in. The child took worship. Forgetting everything of her past, of her horrible years. The god protected her, keeping her close and raising her as though she was his own. Keeping her tucked under his protective arms soon comforted the young child. As she grew and grew, her bond with the god grew stronger and powerful. He protected her from the evil she had experienced, comforting her through her worst times. The god grew to be a father to her. Scolding her when she did wrong. Rewarding her when she did right. He wished for the absolute best for her and the best is what she received.
Isie yelped as she tumbled into the bed, yawning slightly with a soft grumble. "Drunk again I see." Anubis hummed "I didn't mean to. Shoare kept buying me drinks." She whined before laying flat on her back. "I tell you to not hang around her for a reason, my child. She isn't healthy for you." He said gently as he stood and walked to her. "I'm sorry, Anubis. I'll do good next time. I promise. I won't even say yes when she offers a drink." "You're Self Control is what concerns me, Isie. Sometimes you don't know how to say no. Not without help." "But I will! I'll do better Anubis I promise! Don't shun me from going outside like you did last time." She pouted. Anubis sighed softly before laying her back and pulling the blankets over her. Taking note, of the other god sitting in the corner. "Khonshu. It's best to leave her alone." "But I wish to see. I don't want her having a hangover when it comes morning." Khonshu hummed as he walked over to her, sitting next to her and gently brushing her pixie hair cut free from her face. "It needs to be cut back again. It's getting to close to her face, I know she doesn't like it." "You have no right bring here, Khonshu. She is My Avatar. Not yours." Anubis hissed. "It is not my fault she calls my name ever so softly." "She doesn't even know you exist here. You're just someone in a book to her." He scoffed. "And that, just makes it better, Anubis." Khonshu hummed nonchalantly. He froze when she shifted away, Anubis yanking him away. "Get away from her, Khonshu." Khonshu stared at Anubis before suddenly disappearing. Anubis groaned softly before sitting next to Isies bed.
The Next Day
Isie groaned aloud, shaking her head before slowly sliding off her bed and grabbing the glass of water Anubis placed there that morning. "Anubis? What was the talking about last night?" "I was just talking to myself, little Isie." "I'm not that little anymore! I'm twenty c'mon Anubis." She pouted as she changed into her work clothes. "I still see you as the child I saved in the desert." He said gently. "I remember it vividly, you were crying. Pleading. I couldn't leave you there." "I remember it to, Anubis. But it was centuries ago, you mustn't hold onto the past so long." "But the past is how I found the woman I have raised into today. From the small, fragile child to the now headstrong and beautiful women." "C'mon dad we go through this all the time." "Because you need the confidence boost." Anubis laughed as he nudged her gently. Isie laughed as she finished getting ready and walked out the door. Immediately getting trampled on by Steven, a man who she always helped when she noticed he wasn't looking right. "Oh I am so, sorry Isie!" He gasped while helping her stand straight. Isie giggled slightly as she patted his shoulder and pulled him up onto the trolly with her. "It's alright, Steven. We go through this all the time." She chuckled. Steven rubbed his face as he sighed. "Still. I feel bad each time." "I promise. It's alright. Lets just hope we aren't late and put on inventory again." Isie laughed.
