What A Journey

Chapter 5

Sang's pov.

I slept well that night after the busy day at the zoo, no nightmares. Lucky me. I made the twins chocolate chip pancakes a family favourite and it's the only thing we have on a Sunday. The twins ate, got ready for the day and asked to play outside.

I was watching them through the kitchen window. They were using the climbing frame they have. Everything was normal for our Sunday, until my phone rang. I smiled when I saw the name.

I picked it up and answered "Hello Uncle". His sigh alone told me this wouldn't be the happy conversation i was hoping for.

"Hi Sang, i um. The boys are asking about you." that was the last thing i expected to hear from him.

"What do you mean they're asking about me. A bit too little to late Uncle" i replied back.

I could feel his smile as he answered "thought you might say that. Well i just wanted you to know they were asking after you. They thought i might know where you were, not that it matters they know where you are any way."

"WHAT. What did you just say" i asked, well shouted or panicked or whispered. HELP.

"You heard me. The boys have found you. Some of them saw you yesterday, at the zoo i think." Uncle's voice kept repeating in my head. 

Boys have found you. 

I took a deep breath and said "Ok, i was at the zoo yesterday. maybe they did see me, b..".

Uncle cut me off "it was you. They said they saw you with the twins. Though they don't know they are their twins. It was too funny listening to them to tell them the truth about that".

"This just keeps getting better and better. A weekend full of shit. First James and now them". I rumble away to myself. "I don't know what they want from me. I told them in my note where i was going and if they wanted they could come and find me. They never did, I was never missing. I have always been here".

"Look" Uncle starts "I know what happened, I was here watching you slowly disappear. I have asked more than once if they got your note. They have told me the same answer each time, they tell me no. That's why i'm calling, we need to all sit down and figure out what happened."

"you'll be there too, With me" I whisper. I don't want to speak to them but it would be nice to found out what happened.

"Of course Sang. Where else would i be" He tells  me.

"Thank you Uncle"  

"You're very welcome Sang. I'll be down tomorrow. I don't know how long they will wait now they know where you are" and with that he was gone. I still had the phone to my ear when the twins came through. 

"who's on the phone mama" Poppy ask's.

"It was Uncle, he is going to come and visit soon. Might be here tomorrow" I tell them both.

The smiles they both gave me when they heard that were huge. "really, i hope his hear soon. I've missed him" Poppy said.

Ace piped up "I can show him that's i can nearly do the monkey bars".

I nod and add "if you keep practising by the time he gets here you might be able to do all of it"

He was already running back outside as he added "yeah good ideas mama".
