Those two simple words made Juniper's blood boil. The cocky voice tone used in that basic sentence is what drove her mad. There was nothing in this world she hated more than arrogance.
She turned her stool around and stared at the person next to her. She tilted her head, squinting her eyes and sucking her teeth, and she analyzed the company.
There were two men hanging on the bar counter, both looking at her now. The lights were dimmed and a purple haze blurred the man's face, but June recognised he looked familiar. Big eyes, pronounced jawline.
Then it clicked.
It did. But she couldn't have cared less.
"Feeling arrogant?"
Whatever she had said, there was no going back now. As soon as the bartender placed the shots on the counter, she drank one with no hesitation. Her friends followed her pace and took theirs as well.
