Pearl entered Amethyst's room, noticing the gem had been missing all day. She found Amethyst lying about her junk, asleep. Pearl went to say something when she caught sight of the cuts on Amethyst's wrists. She cringed, hoping it wasn't what she thought it was.

Amethyst opened her eyes as Pearl tried to find something to say. Amethyst's face flushed a dark purple with anger. "Pearl! What the hell are you doing in here!? Get out!"

Pearl placed her hands on her hips,"I saw your wrists! I will not leave you alone until you tell me why!"

Amethyst's eyes watered,"You'd never understand!"

Amethyst turned to run off farther into her mess of a room to hide. Pearl grabbed her arm,"I will not even get the chance to if you do not open up to me."

Amethyst looked away.

"Is it about Rose?"

Silence.

"Look. We all hurt, but right now we need to be strong for Steven."

"I don't care! I don't care about that stupid baby", Amethyst shot back.

"Amethyst!"

"What!? He took something I loved the most! You and Garnet are never there! She was the only-" The gem's voice cracked, so she shut up again and cast her clouded gaze to the ground.

"Come on. This is not Steven's fault. Rose made her choice. Even though she knew it would hurt us, she did it anyway... But she would not have if she did not think we could could handle it."

"Well, I can't!", Amethyst attempted to break from Pearl's grip again.

Pearl sat down, pulling Amethyst onto her lap, embracing her against her will.

"Let me go!", Amethyst growled.

Pearl closed her eyes and laid her head on Amy's shoulder,"I love you, Amethyst. It hurts to see you hurt in such a way. I am sorry if you feel like I am never there, but I will tell you that is not true. I care so much for you, I just want the best for you, and I want you to be the best you can be. I have always envied Rose for being the only one able to talk to you when you are in these episodes. I just want you to trust me as you did her. I am only rough on you because I do not know another approach that will make you listen. Please hear me out... I love you so much. Please, let me in..."

Amethyst had quit struggling and was blushing, astonished. Her voice was quiet yet calm,"Pearl, let go."

Thinking she failed, Pearl decided to let go in defeat. But instead of running off, Amethyst turned around, tears streaming down her cheeks,"I- I love you, too..."

Pearl leaned in and wiped at the tears before planting a kiss on her lips. Pearl broke the kiss, forehead on Amethyst's,"You wanna fuse into Opal and get some target practice?"

The sniffling purple gem nodded.

The two preformed a graceful dance led by Pearl. They danced their hearts out together. In the end, Pearl laughed with Amethyst as their gems glowed.
