My POV

"You busted your ass out there!!" Kylee laughs, helping out of the rink.

After our walk in Arlington Park, we immediately went ice skating, and I remembered why I never went when our friends went years ago.

I always fell on my ass.

"I remember why I never returned to the roller skating park." I groan, rubbing my ass.

"All your friends gave you shit because of it too. You were always better at skateboarding." Kylee tells.

"You're damn right." I say.

We walked off the rink and grabbed a hot chocolate. We talk for a while and we end up on the topic of our love lives.

"So what about you? Have you found Mr. Right yet?" I ask.

"Or Mrs. Right. You know I'm bi." Kylee chuckles.

"Darren liked that about you." I say.

"Darren was a pervert, misogynistic, and a complete asshole. It's why he runs a sleazy stripper joint." Kylee tells.

"You got that right." I say.

"So have you been on a date since you've been out here?" Kylee asks.

"No. There hasn't been much time for me to go out with my job. Weekends are my days off." I say.

"You never said anything about where you work. What are you doing now?" Kylee asks.

"I'm contractually bonded not to say." I tell.

"When you put it like that, it must be serious."

"You have no idea. The whole thing is as.....interesting as it comes." I tell.

"Come on. Let's turn in our skates and grab a beer." Kylee tells.

We exited the rink, slowly since I wasn't about to fall on my ass again. Once we traded in our skates for our shoes, we went to a nearby bar and grabbed a drink.

"I can't believe you still drink that swill." I say, sipping from my Heineken.

"Miller Lite is a good beer." Kylee says.

"Corona is a good beer. Miller Lite is dog water by default." I say.

"Then what about Coors?" Kylee asks.

"Coors is the sin of all beers." groaning as I thought about the taste.

"You have some poor taste." Kylee laughs.

"Kettle, meet pot." I grin.

We laugh at that and grab another when we finish our first beer.

"So you never told me about your dating history. What's going on there?" I ask.

"Currently single, but talking to someone." Kylee tells.

"Really? Who?" I ask.

"Their name is Lynne. They/Them pronouns. We meet at my orientation at Wave Technologies. She's interning at the coding side of the company while I'm on the mechanics side." Kylee says.

"Wouldn't that be like fraternizing with coworkers being bad shtick?" I ask.

"Not when we are different departments. Besides, we're just talking. Nothing concrete right now."

"Well, I hope things go well for you." I say.

We clinked our beers together and had a good time drinking and catching up before calling it a night.

"This was great Kylee. We have to do this again sometime." I tell.

"Yeah. We have to get together again." Kylee tells.

"Darren is going to want to come as well." I point out.
"As long as he keeps his comments to himself, then I'll allow him to come." she says.

"I'll keep him on a tight leash. You call a cab?" I ask.

"Yeah. Not going to drive like this. I'll send my roommate to get my car in the morning. She owes me a favor." Kylee says.

"My boss will probably get someone to come out and grab mine." I tell.

".........You're staying with your boss?"

".............Shit, I wasn't supposed to say that." I blink.

"I think you had one too many. I know I did. We can forget about that slip of the tongue. Get home safe, checkers." Kylee says as her cab pulls up.

She hugs me before getting in her cab and taking off. Victor, Angelina's driver, pulled up across the street, making me walk towards it to get into the back.

"Have a good time, Mr.Shepherd?" Victor asks.

"I did. Is someone going to bring my car back to the house?" I ask.

"Jamie will. She's waiting for the keys." he says.

I hand them to her and she nods before getting out and walking over to my car. That's when I got a crazy idea.

".....Do you think that you could be able to get my friend's car back to her place?" I ask.

"As long as I have an address or a name, I'll see what I can do." Victor says, turning the ignition on.

"Kylee Morgan." I tell.

"I'll send it to Jaime and see what we can do." he says.

"Thank you."

"Not a problem, Mr. Shepherd." Victor says.

"You can call me Y/N. No need to be formal after all this time." I say.

He nods but doesn't say anything after that. My phone buzzes in my pocket after a while of riding. I pulled it out and looked at it, shocked as I opened the message. My eyes went wide as I stared at the nude lingerie set that Angelina sent me. I couldn't stop staring at this goddess that graced me with her present state of undress. I wasn't going to complain one bit.

'I think we both know what happens next, hm?' ~ Angelina❤️
