JACKSON AVERY NEVER HAD TROUBLE SLEEPING

He was actually quite an easy sleeper. Maybe it was the comfort he lived in that put him to bed so easily. The fact that when he exited the womb he was destined to inherit millions. The fact that he was entitled to a board seat at 18 years old. The fact that his last name was known as medical royalty. But everything was destined to change. Wanting to step outside his family name, Jackson took a surgical internship in Seattle instead of Boston, where the rest of his family was based. He tried to make a name for himself, ending with a gun to his head in the O.R. And by his side, through it all was his fellow resident, Jason Kepner.

JASON KEPNER CAME FROM SUCH A DIFFERENT FAMILY

From Ohio, Jason was the outcast in his conservative family. The scrawny boy was left without a home at 16 when he was disowned for his sexuality. He went to Mercy West Hospital to get as far away from Ohio as possible. It was by fate that he reconnected with his sister, April, who was also a new surgical intern. There they met Jackson Avery and became close with him as well as Reed Adamson and Charles Percy. As the five moved to Seattle Grace Mercy West for the merger, it was finally noticed that Jackson and Jason were closer than the rest. And eventually, that's how the two ended up at gunpoint together.

"THE BEST CURE FOR INSOMNIA IS TO GET A LOT OF SLEEP."
