Marnie shrieked as a rat scampered out of one of the laundry piles on the floor.
"Valourez!"
The short 14 year old stomped into the room. "What?"
"Stop bringing rodents into the house!"
"I didn't complain when you found that bud-shrew in the field yesterday!"
"Yes, but I didn't keep it in my pocket!" Marnie growled, picking up Valourez's blue dress. Another rat leapt from the pocket. "Ah! See what I mean?!"
"Nope." Val scooped up the rat and slipped into her apron front, walking away.
Marnie grumbled under her breath.
"Stupid girl."
