"How could you miss a dead body?" Wednesday said as she and Y/N were walking beside the sheriff, with Ms. Weems being them "Cause it wasn't there. No footprints, no blood, no sign of a struggle. Nothing. Nada." The sheriff responded "A body doesn't just disappear, Mongrel" "My search party looked all night. And you better respect your superiors. Boy" The sheriff said facing Y/N "When you see my superior, let me know, 'cause all I see right now. Is someone weaker than me." Y/N stated "Your search party must have left their seeing-eye dogs at home. We saw that monster kill Rowen right in front of us, then it tried to go after Y/N." Wednesday said "Did you get a good look at this monster thing? Also, if it tried to go after Y/N why isn't he dead?" The sheriff said, "Are you stating that you wanted to monster to kill my beloved?" Wednesday asked glaring at the sheriff "All I'm saying is, how come he isn't injured? Th-" the sheriff got cut off "Because Y/N isn't weak. It's as simple as that."

"Maybe it's one of your classmates then." the sheriff said "I find your statement quite offensive sheriff." Ms. Weems said clearly offended "Well, I don't care 'cause I got three other dead bodies in the morgue. Hikers just ripped apart in the woods." The sheriff argued, "The mayor said those were bear attacks." Ms. Weems argued back "Yeah, well, the mayor and I disagree on that." "So you automatically assume a Nevermore student is the murderer, even though there is no evidence a crime was committed." Ms. Weems said "I'm sorry. I forgot, you only teach good outcasts here, right?" the sheriff countered

"My guess is Rowen ran away." Ms. Weems said as she went to sit on her chair in her office "State troopers have put out an alert, and I've contacted his family, but they haven't heard from him either." "Dead people are notoriously bad at returning calls." Wednesday said causing Y/N to chuckle "What were you two doing out in the woods with him, Miss Addams?" The sheriff questioned, "We heard a noise in the forest and went to go investigate. That's when we stumbled upon the attack." Wednesday said "Then what happened?" "Then we ran into Bianca Barclay, and I told her to go look for help. Next thing I remember I was awaking in my dorm." Wednesday said "And just to be clear, this monster wasn't some bear or some other wild animal." The sheriff said which caused Y/N to scoff "We've hibernated with grizzlies, Mongrel. We know the difference" "Thank you, Sheriff. I think Miss Addams and Mr. Uchiha are done now." Miss Weems said

"Actually, we would like to speak to Sheriff Galpin. Alone." Wednesday said "I'm not sure I can allow that." "And why not?" Y/N said "I'm sure I can take them down to the station and get a formal statement." The sheriff said "Yeah, let's g-" "Fine, you have five minutes. And everything is off the record." Miss Weems said cutting off Sheriff Galpin. "Play nice... or I will call the mayor." And with that, she left "Someone is trying to cover up Rowen's murder. That's the only reason to scrub the crime scene."Wednesday said, "Is that your professional opinion as the daughter of a murderer?" The sheriff said causing Y/N to glare at him "Her father is twice the man you are today, Mongrel. And the only thing he murderers is the occasional opera in the shower." He said the last part barely above a whisper but Wednesday had heard him and had a small smile "It's been a long night, and I'm tired of your guy's games." "We're not playing games" Wednesday said "We're telling the truth. You want to reject our claim but you can't."Wednesday said "Why is that?" "Because you and I both know there's a monster out there." Y/N said "And Rowen is its latest victim." Wednesday finished.

Suddenly the door opened "Sheriff." said the woman "What?" "You're gonna want to see this." She said as she stepped aside and...
