"GET OUT NOW!!!" a voice screamed as a door was slammed in my face. I'll just wait until she cools down and then she will let me back in, like usual. Just then I was whacked in the face by a hastily packed bag. Guess not. I'm on my own tonight. Oh, by the way, my name is Casey. You're probably wondering what all that was about. Well, I've been kicked out by my dumb roommate. Apparently spilling water on her favorite Calvin Klein dress was reason enough for my dismissal. So as of now I am homeless with nothing to eat...fun right? I sighed as I made my way to the lobby and out the door. The tension had been high between us since day one.  I was too weird and she was too, well...weird.  We both didn't ask too many questions though and she wasn't terrible.  It was a place to stay.  Now what was I going to do?  Things couldn't get any worse right? Wrong. Rain decided to make an appearance and soak me because it loves me. No offense rain, not feeling the love.

I trudged on making my way to the bus stop. I couldn't help thinking that this was all just some sick test to earn my Hogwarts letter or to enter some other magical place. If it was, I must have failed because the Tardis, wardrobe, owls, and the Millennium Falcon all remained unseen. As I boarded the bus I remembered that I didn't have anywhere to go. I whipped out my Samsung which was, miraculously, pardoned from the rain. I scrolled through my contact list and one name stuck out. Jace. He was my best friend in high school and had just rented a new apartment. I was sure he wouldn't mind a visit for a few days. My finger hit the call button and I relayed my dilemma. He said that he couldn't wait for me to come over. He started to say something about roommates when the line went dead. I caught a glimpse of the low battery symbol before my phone shut down. How come it is always low when you need it? Thanks Samsung.

Let me tell you about Jace.  Was he nice?  Yes.  Was he good looking?  A-yass.  Was I into him?  No.  He had been there for me during a very difficult time of my life, even if he didn't know it.  For that I would be forever grateful.  I tried to make it up to him by being his most bestest friend and a pretty good wing-woman if I do say so myself.  Have ya met Jace?  He's a knockout.  Although he didn't really need my help in that area because out of 10 he was like a bazillion.  Many heads had been turned by his looks but few had won his true affections.  He had a personality of gold and sometimes with a face of pure awesome it can be hard to find people who want to be with you for the right reasons.  I liked to think my talents were better used as his rabid guard dog.  If my bitch radar went bezerk I would deal with the slut before she could make it to the second date.  He appreciated this because did I mention that confrontation isn't his strongsuit?  I had so many adventures with the guy I was so excited to see him.  Both of our situations changed when college came around and I hadn't seen him in a while.  Summer had just begun so he had to have a lot of time on his hands right?  Wrong.  Now he has me to deal with.  I smiled at this.

A short while later I was dripping at his doorstep and knocking as obnoxiously as possible to bug him. I couldn't wait to see that annoyed look on his face. What I didn't expect was to come face to face with three gorgeous guys with the resemblance of Greek gods.  And not the weird Disney ones either.  Like the "omg I can totally count your abs type".  Shit.  Completely stunned, I just stood there. I didn't even notice that they were talking to me until I saw a hand being waved in my face. I couldn't help the blush that spread across my face as I realized they must have seen me hard core checking them out. The one who was trying to get my attention stuck out his hand and introduced himself smiling.

"Hi," his voice was low and rough like the surfer dudes in movies. "I'm Tyler." "You must be Jace's friend, uh, Casey?" I mumbled a really awkward yeah distracted by his brown spiky hair and baby blue eyes. The other guys quickly introduced themselves as Nate, who had dirty blonde hair, and Cole who was unarguably the best looking of the three. I was reminded that looks can be deceiving when he shrugged me off and shot me a dirty look. Geesh...what crawled up his butt and died? Before I could say anything Tyler yanked me through the door with my body flopping like a rag doll. He then gave me what he dubbed "the Grand Tour" as he pointed out three small rooms and a bathroom. It was small and I began to feel like my decision to impose may not have been a good idea when he showed me the kitchen my stomach made an inhuman noise that sounded like a cross between a dying zombie and a drunk racoon. I wasn't even embarrassed as the drive of hunger took over me. I ran to the kitchen like a lion hunting its prey and immediately started stuffing my face with whatever was on the counter. Lucky for me it happened to be high class junk food. Quickly remnants of Little Debbie cakes, pretzels, and chips littered the counter. Cole brushed passed me to get a glass of water and gave me a disgusted look that made me realize that I probably looked like a pig. I tried to make up for my manners by flashing my best smile but its charm was dampened due to the fact that there was mushed up cake and pretzels oozing from my mouth. As Cole exited the room I thought I detected a small smile creep across his face. My imagination could have been playing tricks on me but before I had time to dwell on it the door flew open to reveal a slightly damp Jace (the rain must have loved him too). I raced over to him and gave him the weird jump/hug thing I do when I am with him. His strong arms wrapped around me as he twirled me through the air. I laughed and he gently set me down in front of him. He looked down at me with his dimple filled smile that I loved.

"Wow!" Jace gasped looking at me. "You are a mess." I guess I must have looked pretty weird. The fly-aways in my hair had dried causing my hair to be a frizzy mess, my clothes were still damp, and my mascara had smeared making me look like a drowned raccoon. I had frosting on my shirt that must have been from the cakes. I laughed.

"Mess?" I raised my eyebrows. "When you refer to mess I assume you mean hot mess!" I flipped my hair and shot him a grin. He chuckled and shook his head.  "Tell me all about your life," I begged.  "It's been so long I missed you so much."

He smiled.  "I missed you too Casey."  We just stood there smiling for a moment.  I sighed with exhaustion which he must have picked up on.  "But I can tell you about that tomorrow," he said.  "I see you've met my roomies." He gestured to the three men who had spread themselves throughout the apartment.

"Roomies?" I asked. My face probably had a look of slight panic but I quickly composed myself. "So that's what you were saying before my phone died."

"It died?" he asked. "I thought you were just a really good listener." I gave him a dirty look and he smirked.

"Don't make me come over there and stab you with a pencil," I threatened with finger raised.

"Oh don't worry," he replied.  "You and your violent tendencies can stay here on the couch tonight."  I grinned before he said, "Nah I'm just kidding, you can take my bed tonight and I will take the couch," he announced.

"No way." I told him. "I am not taking your bed." "Couches and I go wayyy back."

"Too bad." he said with a devious smile.

I turned towards the couch but screamed as he threw me over his shoulders. He ducked as we entered his room and he tossed me onto his bed.

"Oh darn." he lamented with mock sadness. "Looks like you got here first."

"Jace you bastard!" I called as he left the room cackling madly.

I thought about running after him but I didn't get up. Lying there looking at the ceiling I was glad I had a friend like Jace. Whack! My face was attacked by something hard. I had been hit by my bag for the second time that night. I retorted with my ninja speed and threw a pillow in his direction but he must have anticipated it because it hit the door that he closed just in time.  Next time I'll get him.  I grinned and pushed my bag to the floor.  I stretched out on the bed like a cat attempting yoga. Jace's smell was all over it and I breathed deeply.  It took me back to the good old days.  Maybe it was all the emotions of the night or the walking in the rain but a sudden wave of exhaustion overwhelmed me as sleep lured me to its depths.  I might be peaceful now but tomorrow they wouldn't know what hit them!
