After waking up in the middle of the night for no reason again, she awakes in annoyance yet again. Her alarm clock is making the familiar noise, Bip! Bip! Bip! She knew if she waited any more the sound would turn into a full-fledged beep, then a constant noise. Her body moves to turn off the machine, then the realization slowly comes to her. It's Tuesday. You gotta go to school again, Adley. Oh how her heart ached for her to just go back to sleep. Dread filled her mind. Her eyelids struggled to stay open, while her ever-so-punctual soul urged her to just wake up. Yet, her body wouldn't move an inch, and her brain was still in dreamland. One accidental eye close later, she started to fall back asleep. Suddenly, a noise from the other room called out to her; "Ad! You awake?" The clock said 5:56, crap. Dad's gonna be late because of me, again. What a nuisance I am. Her brain called her all sorts of names and she sort of just- took it. Like it's just as normal as brushing your teeth or putting on deodorant. Mustering up her voice, she hollered, "Yeah!" Mustering her body, she quickly jumped out of bed and went to go put her uniform on.
She looks for a brand new look to "impress" the others at school, or maybe even to bring back an outfit she wore long ago knowing they forgot. Her critical thinking skills when it comes to this are mighty. She chose a flower-styled fit for that day, flower choker, little flower clips to put in her hair, a headband with a white clip-on flower with her long blonde pigtails to accentuate the innocence in her grey eyes. Along with her new pink tennis shoes and her only pink belt. She wished it wasn't November so that she could wear a pleated skirt and white tights to match. White. She had to remind herself that even though she looked white, she was Spaniard, Hispanic, no matter what anyone at school said. Beside this, Her styles seem to rotate with the people she either crushes on to impress them, or to see if someone who she thinks likes her does. Conclusions in her brain hate her for this, and always just call her delusional for wanting love, and she believes them. Then, she went to go brush her teeth.
Why'd I have to stay up so late last night, she chided herself, while fully knowing her voices last night screamed at her to go to sleep at a normal hour. The tiredness wants to sleep in, but she really wants to deny it in order to avoid a nagging from her parents and to try to invent a new part of her personality she approves of. Meanwhile, there wasn't even a spark of light outside. Speaking of avoiding a nagging, she tries her best in order to brush her teeth to get them good enough for braces. Usually she gets done with this before her father gets out of his room, but this time she didn't. She cups her hands and the tap water flows into her hands. Then she brings it to her face and drinks some, hoping it won't spill on her outfit. Her father begins, jokingly, "Good morning child." She spits, then speaks, "Good morning dad." This is the remainder of their conversation for now. After she puts on her deodorant she rushes to her room to get her socks. Then she runs downstairs, puts them on along with the pink tennis shoes, and then packs her lunch. Her father then comes downstairs urging her to hurry. She complains that she's going as fast as she can, but he isn't buying it. They finally get into the car at 6:21, way too late.
The conversation in the car is as dry as ever, but the charming-ness of it never leaves, as they don't pressure themselves of trying to come up with a topic every two seconds. She enjoys the relationship she has with her father, it's calm and never stressful. Adley puts one AirPod in her ear and begins to listen to her wide variety of music, mentally celebrating the fact that she survived the morning, but still keeping in mind that she has to survive the school day. She doesn't want to go back, she wants to just sleep in and dissociate but no. Unfortunately, she's just gotta go do it. Life goes on and on, and she's just one of the many human persons in this society's game. She's sick of it, she wants people to know her name, and she's almost willing to go too far and murder several people to get some recognition. The last thing she wants to be is normal.
