Knock knock knock.

Mary woke up to a knock on the front door. She sat up, turning on the light. She heard the knock again, and walked quickly into the living room, opening the door.

She was met with a sad sight. Natalie Paquette, one of the sweetest Littles Mary knew, was standing at her door, sobbing and hugging herself, looking down at the ground.

"Nattie? What happened love?" Mary asked. Natalie only sobbed harder. "Oh love... Come in, it's rainin'... What on Earth are you doing out?"

"I-I-I-" Natalie stuttered, before taking a shaky breath.

"Breathe, petal. Take your time. You're alright," Mary soothed, closing the door and sitting down next to the shaking blond.

"Alexander- He-he was drinking a-and he... He doesn't want me anymore," Natalie explained.

"Oh pet..." Mary cooed softly, though under the surface she was boiling with rage. How could he do this? Why would he do this? Was Natalie alone in the first place? Was this the first time? Questions for another night, she reminded herself. She wrapped her arms around Natalie, pulling her close. Natalie sobbed into Mary's shoulder. Finally, she started to calm down after 20 minutes.

"C-Can I... Can I stay with you for the night?" Natalie asked, terrified that Mary would say no.

"Of course love. Stay as long as you need. I'll keep you safe."
