"So... What do you think?" Dess asked standing beside me in the mirror, snapping a picture as I examined my newly added colors & twisted dreads

"Twist cool. Why you choose to dye four of my dreads blue, purple, green & pink is what I'm tryna figure out." I said, turning to face her
"Because it's cute & it's different." She said shrugging her shoulders, before moving around me taking a seat on my bed "You don't like it?"
"Actually... I'm kinda fucking with it." I said looking in the mirror once again before joining her on the bed, leaning on my headboard while she sat at the foot, texting away on her phone
"See I told you to trust me stink."
"Don't call me that shit."
"Whatever... When do the season start?"
"In about 4 weeks. First game is November 11th.. you gone come through & see your boy?"
"Oh you already know I'm in there." She said bringing her knees to her chest "You excited?"
"Hell yeah. I been training hard all summer with Pops, Tap & Niya. I'm ready to ball out."
"I didn't realize Niya played basketball too. I should've known though the way she was hitting them 3's that night when I worked out with y'all."
"Yeah she learned that from her big bro." I said patting myself on the chest
"Boy stop." She said laughing "Your whole family is talented. Your mom ball too?"
"You know what's funny.. she was on the basketball team in college, she was a point guard.. they said she was pretty decent too... she said she only played for fun though, she wasn't tryna go pro like pops or anything."
"So what are your plans?" She asked
"Whatchu mean?"
"Are you planning on finishing school or do you plan to enter the drafts & go pro?"
"Here you go with this draft & going pro shit again." I said shaking my head
