You and William were scheduled to meet again today.

An exhilarating, almost ecstatic sensation took hold, manifesting as a tightness in your chest. A good, comforting tension, like the embrace of a favorite family member you hadn’t seen in ages, wrapping you in a warm, familiar hug.

That warmth accompanied the feeling, wrapping around you like a comforting blanket.

You swung your legs over the side of the bed, checked the time, and made your way to the bathroom. There were about 4 hours before you needed to be at the restaurant.

Standing before the mirror, you began brushing your hair, smoothing out every strand. Once your hair was in order, you moved on to washing your face.

Honestly, you weren't entirely sure why you cared so much about how you looked around him. But at this point, it didn’t really matter.

You went through the rest of your morning routine, methodically completing each step with care.

When you were happy with who looked back at you in the mirror, you walked to your closet to get dressed.

Deciding on a simple brown flannel, black tee, and oversized jeans, you slipped everything on and set off to make breakfast.

.

Finishing your cup of coffee, you glanced at the time.

It was 12:30, and you and William were meeting at 1:00, so you got out of your chair and made your way to the door.

You walked out to your car and slipped in, turning the key to get it up and running.

It wasn't a long drive, so you'd be there early, but you doubted William would mind.

You didn't either.

Turning on the radio, you slapped your hand on your leg to the beat, humming along.

The day was coming along smoothly, and you were excited to see William again. He was interesting, to stay the least, and you needed the spark of something that he brought into your life.

Even so, it was a little odd, your affinity to him. He was intriguing, sure, but it felt oddly dangerous every time you were together.

It was as if he held the key to your heart in one hand, but a knife in the other.

It only seemed to draw you in further, though, the danger. It was just another facet to the already complex man, and you wanted to know and understand everything about him.

You slowly came up to the restaurant, the warm glow of its windows inviting you in. Stepping out of the car, you took a moment to breathe in the evening air, feeling the comforting hum of anticipation.

Your eyes wandered until they landed on William sitting at the same booth where you'd first met. A grin tugged at your lips as you caught sight of his eager expression, eyes bright with excitement. When your gazes met, he burst into a pleased smile, leaning forward just a bit.

You chuckled, seeing his excited expression as you locked eyes.

"Y/n! You're early. Come, sit down. I already ordered our pizza." He spoke, a smile dancing on his lips as you obliged.

You chuckled softly, feeling the warmth of the place seep into your bones. "You really couldn’t wait, huh?" you teased, sliding into the booth.

William looked at you with that charming, smooth tone he's known for. "Well, I figured I’d beat the rush. Plus, I had some time to kill. You can tell the waiter your drink order when he comes by. But tell me, how have you been, dear?"
