The tension between you and William had thickened since he had confessed. Not in a bad way, per say, but it was still there.
It only ever calmed down when Michael was around. It's still a bit of a problem nonetheless..
You'd address it eventually.
For now, you'd have to ride through it. Until you and him were alone again, that is.
You felt a squeeze to your hand.
Will was looking at you with a worried face. You must've zoned out.
Mike was talking, and you didn't want to interrupt, so you settled with giving a reassuring smile.
That seemed to do the trick as he looked back over to his son, listening contently.
His face had settled, a soft smile dressing his features, and you blushed a bit, looking at him. He was so handsome.
You, William, and Mike had gone out for dinner again. It's a new place not too far out from Hurricane, so, since you were off, you decided to check it out.
It was a nice place. It was pretty, with its stained glass light fixtures and welcoming, warm light.
It was a very homey place. The food was good too. Mainly Italian dishes.
The best part, though, was being here with the Aftons. They really made the moment great.
Mike was making jokes, warming the atmosphere, and William's presence was overall comfortable.
Being here, a family-owned restaurant with plenty dedicated workers, with your own 'family', had to be one of the best moments of your life.
You were glad you met William that day. He really brightened up your dull life. The best part, though, was that you helped him.
You helped pull him through a dark time in his life. You were the one who got to be with him and make his time on this world wonderful.
You couldn't be more proud of yourself about that.
.
You and the boys were playfully chatting as you left the building. William, as the gentleman he is, paid, even if you were the one who suggested going out.
Micheal was walking backward excitedly, talking to you and William about something that happened at school that day.
He had gotten into an incident with some of his friends and a teacher at lunch.
You got into your car, and William was about to, when he stopped abruptly, turning to look at you.
"Y/n?" You looked over and hummed, signaling him to continue. "You want to follow me and Mike home? So we can spend some more time before you go back to work?"
You smiled. "Sure! Lead the way."
.
You guys soon arrived at his house. It was exactly as you remembered. I mean, who could forget a moment like that?
A relaxed smile was on your face as you got out of your car and walked beside Will.
Once you were in the home, you guys all went to the living room. You had never seen this part of the house.
It was a quite lavish room. The floor was a rich, dark wood, and nice gray sofas were positioned in front of a gorgeous white fireplace.
It had beautiful, intricate detailing that crowned the arch of the hearth as well as the mantle. It had a few family photos perched up on it, along with two identical, white candles.
