I really didn't want to go to this Christmas party but my mom is dragging me along. I'm only going because of her.
As we got in the car and drove off, we had our normal sing along session. We didn't get to the Christmas party until a little after five. The area where they had it at was huge.
"Wow they really out did theirselves." My mom said
"It's ight." I slightly agreed.
They started to head towards their seats, a waiter come and took their order.
"Hey ma I'm going to the bathroom." I got up and walk towards the bathroom.
I was deep in my phone when I accidentally bumped in to someone. "I'm sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going." I said picking my phone up off the floor.
"Its okay, I wasn't paying attention either." The deep voice said.
I looked up at him and we connected eyes. I found myself checking out his facial features. His smile caught my attention the most.
"Umm here you drop your keys as well." He said.
"Oh uh thank you." He handed me the keys and I went to the bathroom.
Later on that night, I was sitting at the table while my mom was talking to her coworkers. I was talking pictures on my phone in my own little world.
"Hi again."
Looking up from my phone. I saw him standing there with a grin on his face..
"Hi.." I said.
" You wanna get outta here? Im bored and you look like you don't wanna be here either." He said
I looked out to find my mom and she was entertaining people. " Yeah sure."
We walked passed the crowed of people and made it to a back door that lead to a beautiful garden.

We sat around the fire place and he pulled out a blunt.
" Do you smoke?" He asked
"I did once in high school, before me and my friends went to prom." I said
"Oh for real? What school?" He asked
"Central High."
"No way!?!? Went there back in 07 graduated in 14."
"Young definitely came found 08 graduated in 15." I said
"How come I never saw you?" He asked
"I was a nerd so I tried to keep a low profile." I laughed.
"Dam I was definitely a nerd to but I was a part of the popular group so everyone knew me."
He handed me the lit blunt and I took a few hits off it. It was a smooth taste. I didn't really cough for eal.
We shared a few laughs and high school stories. They matches up for the most part.
Our conversation ended when my phone was ringing and it was my mom....
"I'm outside mom here I come." I said
"I guess we gottah go back inside.." he said sounding sad
"Yeah I guess."
We walked back inside then separated.
I went in the bathroom and washed my face then put on some of my body oil to kill the smell of weed.
" Hey baby I know this is boring but how bout we go to the 24 hour diner we both love.?" She always know how to make me smile ... Plus I was hungry as fuck.
"Okay yeah that sounds great."
After the party was said and done. We did go to the diner. We ordered our usual.
For my mom, she gets the country breakfast with coffee
And I get steak and eggs... Steak medium and eggs sunny.
As we ate the food, she started talking about the party.... I'm really am proud of my mother. She brought us up from nothing.. I love her and what she had to do to provide from me.
"So that boy you was with..." She started
"What about him ma." I laughed
"That my boss son and he has a girlfriend." She said
Now I didn't know nor did I really care.. He cute but I'm not in the mood for a boyfriend or a person other than my mom in my personal space.
"Mom I already know what you are about to say. So let me just dead this.. You and I both know that I am not looking nor want to.. we just went to the back yard and smoked weed. That's it. I didn't even know we went to the same high school until it came up in conversation."
"Okay son." Was all she could say. She knows she raised a smart boy.
"I'm sorry mom that was rude of me." I apologized
"It's okay son. You're right I do know you and I raised you to speak your mind no matter the person. Let's finish this food and head home." She said
And we did just that.. but the time we got home we both were really tired and my high just came down so I crashed once I got out of the shower.
