I woke up with the sun shining through my window, creating a marvelous rainbow pattern on the chandelier above me. From outside, I could smell the freshly cut grass, and the smell of freshly baked bread wafting up from out of one of the windows below me. The birds were chirping in the trees, and the fountain was sprinkling water, creating a wonderful fairylike sound. The breeze coming through the window was just enough to make the thin, translucent curtains dance about, but not enough to chill me. Perfect. A soft knock on the door brought be back from my trance.

"Your Highness?" said a quiet voice from outside the door, "are you awake yet?"

"Yes I am thank you. May I ask what has been laid out for breakfast?" I asked.

"Fresh french bread with homemade strawberry jam your highness. Not much today, sorry, as we have been working on the coronation buffet all week," said the voice. I dismissed her and went to my fancy italian walk in wardrobe, and selected what to wear for the day. I knew I would have to wear my father's royal cloak, and that he would bring out the best outfit for me today. But in the meantime, I would have to wear my breakfast clothes, and then my garden suit when I went to inspect everything being prepared outside, and my house suit when I went to inspect the ballroom downstairs.

Another person knocked on my door and told me that I had a letter from Princess Johanne, of Sweden. Princess Johanne was a beautiful girl, just a year older than me. She and I wrote a lot to each other, and once every year when we both had time, we would meet in France, so that we could see each other. Of course, it was all arranged, top security and people watching over us the whole time, so we never were able to talk freely to each other. Opening the envelope, which was light blue, her favorite color, I pulled out the letter. 'Dear Prince Edward, I am happy to say that I am coming to Britain for the first time to watch your coronation, my father also allowed me to stay for another week after that to celebrate with you. I'm very exited. I'll be on my fathers ship to England by the time you read this. I made this letter short, because I know you have a lot to do to prepare for your day. I hope all is well with you're family, send them my regards. - Johanne

"Edward? Are you in there?" called a voice from outside. I froze. Then I replied,

"Yes Mother?"

"Well hurry up you need to be downstairs in two minutes we are all waiting for you! Don't forget anything! Be quick! Your father is waiting! How will you run an Empire when you can't even be on time for breakfast! Hurry up now!" said my mother, who was, not the most patient of people. Oh well, you don't get to pick you parents, and I was lucky enough to be born as a prince anyway. Remembering my mothers words, I quickly pulled my breakfast clothes on, and ran downstairs to where everyone was waiting to eat. My mother glared at me to apologize immediately. "I am ever so sorry for keeping you all waiting, please, forgive my tardiness, I will not leave you waiting like this again," I said, hoping that would satisfy my mothers requirements. We ate a quick breakfast of freshly baked french bread and strawberry jam made just this morning from our own strawberries. I walked back upstairs to my room to change into my garden suit, which was an olive green blazer and horse riding trousers, with a white shirt and horse riding boots.

In the gardens, everyone was hard at work, clipping and trimming and planting and watering, making the place look wonderful for my coronation. I sent Millie, my maid, to fetch my horse from the stables. My horse, who's name was Charlie, was a very obedient horse, with a silky black mane and a dark gray pelt with little spots of lighter gray on his back. I rode Charlie around the garden, checking that everything was going well.
