Despite Olivia's question being loud and clear, Ethan couldn't give an immediate response. Instead, he focused on the road ahead, furrowing his eyebrows as he seemed to think of what to say but in the end, he could only sigh deeply.

It was then that Olivia scoffed and looked away from him to face ahead.

"Based on what I've just seen," she began, "I've already come to my own conclusion of what you'll do if your mother tells you to stay away."

At that moment, Olivia expected him to say something in response, but he pressed his lips together and that only frustrated her. Though it was just an assumption, it began to worry her, so she looked at him again and couldn't hold in how she felt about it all.

"I can't believe I'm still going with you despite knowing what'll happen if your m-"

"Can you just stop talking about it?" he yelled, his tone harsh as he slammed the steering wheel.

"No, why should I stop talking about it when we're meeting your mother in a few minutes?" She crossed her arms. "Knowing how obedient of a son you are to her, you'll most likely do whatever she decides and that worries me a little."

"Are you aware that I can drop you off right here?" he asked, annoyed.

"What you said back at my house is the only reason I'm here. If you want, pull over and I'll go back home on my own. Don't think I can't afford a cab right now."

"Just shut up." He sighed, his tone a little more gentle as he realized he didn't actually want her to go back. "We're almost there."

She sighed, looking outside the window to keep herself occupied with the scenery instead of having to deal with Ethan and how he wouldn't give her a direct answer.

The scenery was one of green trees on both sides of the road and a few buildings around. There were no other cars in sight, except for one that drove by them. It was because it wasn't a busy road.

While at it, she spotted a homeless woman with a walking stick sitting on the sidewalk and soon enough, her eyes widened when she realized she was looking at Martha.

"Ethan, pull over," she said to him, her voice urgent.

He sneered. "I already told you that we're almost t-"

"This has nothing to do with you."

"Then what is it?"

"Just pull over. I'll only take a minute."

As Ethan noticed how restless Olivia was and already had her hand on the handle, he decided to pull over on the side of the road.

Quickly, she stepped out and rushed back in the opposite direction.

He watched her through the rearview mirror, wondering what was back there.

She continued moving along the sidewalk and he still couldn't figure out what was going on with her. Since he didn't want her to become the reason they would delay, he stepped out of the car as well and went after her.

As he moved along the sidewalk, he noticed that once she stopped moving, she crouched down in front of someone but he couldn't clearly see who it was since Olivia's body blocked the view.

Curious as to why Olivia did what she did, which was something he had never seen her do before, he got closer.

The moment he was close enough, he took a few steps back as he placed his fingers on his nostrils, twisting his face in disgust at the sight of Martha, who just rocked back and forth as she hummed.

He couldn't understand why Olivia was even trying to get her attention by constantly calling her name when she was just a homeless person.

Impatient and disgusted by the stench constantly wafting its way across his nostrils, he just wanted to get away. It made no difference to him that she was blind and didn't seem to be in her right mind.
