Midna didn't ask for a lot of explanation to be caught up to speed with what was going on. In fact, she only appeared half-interested into why Zelda and her companions had found and activated the Twilight Gate. The Twilight Queen briefly looked visibly impressed that they had survived for as long as they had and found the gate to begin with. However, her demeanour shifted into one of thoughtful suspicion once Zelda revealed their true intentions under hushed tones. As Zelda spoke, Midna's yellow eyes frequently fell upon the form of the wolf who sat next to the Hyrulean Queen. The beast stared up at her with doglike interest and his tail had not stopped wagging. Once Zelda had spoken her piece, the tall figure of the Twili ruler remained silent; the queen tapped her chin with thought. Her eyes continued to glance between the wolf, the Hylian queen, and the box the Light Dwellers had carried with them. There was much to consider. Of course, there was also the silent form of the wounded Sheikah to take into account. The Sheikah youth was circled by his concerned siblings and Simin, but Falk had yet to move or speak. His breathing was laboured and his wounds severe. Zelda pleaded the boy's case to the Twilight monarch, hoping that a solution could be found to possibly save his life.

Zelda made no mention of Sir Faris. The living required more need than the dead.

Midna remained silent for a minute or so more, before she quietly mused, "Light and shadow can't mix..." echoing her own words from six years ago, before her eyes met Zelda's. "Look at you, Queen of Light... quite the mess, indeed..." she mused, a sly smile on her lips.

In response, Zelda remained solemn and her eyes pleading.

"Please, Midna. Can you help us?"

Midna's eyes fell once more to meet the wolf's blue gaze and the Twili's smile twisted upwards into one of amusement and familiarity. Without breaking eye contact with the wolf, the queen suddenly shouted out a couple of stern words in her language of Twilight. Her Twili warriors immediately reacted, signalling that she had just given them some sort of orders.

Setting a hand on her hip, Midna looked down at Zelda with a lackadaisical smile and said, "Tell your people to bring forth their box and the boy. We will try to save him. But! Tell your companions that they cannot enter the Twilight Realm and must remain here. You and your... beast can, though."

Zelda blinked before smiling lightly and bowed her head before the taller monarch.

"You have my gratitude," she said gratefully, before she turned to instruct her comrades of Midna's decision.

Link remained sitting before the Twilight monarch looking up at her, although he heard what was being said behind him. The Hyruleans and Noruidians were wary, but at Zelda's coaxing they handed over the wooden box to the Twili. The Sheikah siblings, however, required a bit more convincing after being informed that they would have to remain and leave their wounded brother's fate to the Twili. While those discussions were taking place, Midna nonchalantly crouched down to come to the wolf's level. A smile was on her lips and she reached over to pet him. Without hesitation she roughly scratched the beast's head.

"When I told you see you later, I didn't think you'd actually take me up on it," she said quietly.

'Honestly, neither did I,' the wolf replied through their connection.

Midna's eyes briefly widened with surprise before her smile twisted upwards. She chuckled lightly as she took back her hand and stood. She watched her warriors carry the seemingly innocent wooden casket towards the entrance of the Gate before they halted to wait for further instructors. The Sheikah siblings were still reluctant to give up their brother; however, all of the Light Worlders fell silent when Midna decided to walk towards them with her sassy smile. Link padded after her to return to Zelda's side.
