From a room just at the beginning of a long, cold hallway, you could barely hear the sounds of a violin coming from a radio, followed by thumps and rumbling. Sunlight was dancing on his messy blonde hair as he was looking for something in a pile of papers.
,,Marta, come here'' , he said while reaching his arm to mine.
Even though they kept him awake for the whole night, he was shining as he was looking down on an old map we still had from middle school. Whatever he was thinking at that moment, no matter what kind of silly idea he had in his mind again, I knew I will try to make it happen for him.
He gently took my hand in his: ,,Marta, let's close our eyes and point anywhere on this map.''
I looked at him confused, but didn't say anything. I just held his hand, closed my eyes and followed his lead. Our hands somehow lead us just near Seoul, to both of us unknown town of Suwon. I said I've never heard of it, but that it must be nice there. The only part I left out from saying out loud was that anywhere was better than here.
,,It's settled then'', he said and pulled me closer to him , ,,this is where we will run away together and start a new life.''
I looked up to see his bright eyes already looking at me softly. ,,Just you and me?''
,,Just you and me Marta, it doesn't matter where we go, right?''
,,It doesn't matter, every place feels familiar as long as you're next to me'', I said while hugging him tighter.
As he was laughing happily he said: ,,We will work hard once we get there, find a small room for us and..''
I jumped in: ,,What if you find a boyfriend there, won't he find it awkward that we're sharing the same bed?''
,,I don't care about that, it's you who I want to spend the rest of my life with'' , a warm breeze from the window brushed our foreheads, ,,but anyway, let me continue.''
He talked about his dream of opening a small bakery, best bakery in town. There, we will meet regular costumers that will come to us first thing in the morning to get some fresh bread and my famous lemon blueberry cake. He talked about all different types of food we will get to try there, trips to nearby villages and beaches. So, while sharing the same cigarette back and fort, we kept daydreaming about our future together. A better, brighter life.
,,I promise I will take you there'' , he nodded, knowing I will.
As we were hugging like world is trying to set us apart, loud footsteps were approaching our room. It's already nighttime.
