EVELYN'S POV
It was impossible. It was simply absurd. I couldn't be Evelyn Williams. No, I wasn't Evelyn Williams. But why was my heart throbbing so much? It was as if I wanted to believe but didn't want to as well.
I descended the stairs quickly, clutching the long dress in one fist and the high heels on the other. I wanted to get away from everyone's sights, I wanted some private space.
Suddenly, everything was making sense even if the logic seemed hilarious. The strange feeling of déjà vu that I had been getting the moment I open my eyes. The strange memory loss when I first opened my eyes.
"If you're really Scorpion, then tell me the part of your life that I don't know about. Tell me, what was your life before five years. TELL ME!"
His words resounded through my brain again and again and I made a pathetic attempt to block them.
"Amnesia, is it?"
"If I tell her she is the real Evelyn Williams, she will assume that I'm lying and that I had taken advantage of her."
"Amazing, Evelyn Williams. I can't believe you forgot the identity that you were most proud of."
"Are you teaching me how to recognise my own wife?"
"Eva, why are you playing dumb? Are you loving how desperate I am? Since when are you so cold blooded?"
Something moist trailed down my cheeks. Suddenly, I was on spotlight. But the direction was wrong. It came from my right. I turned. And a shiver went down my spine. A Monster car was swirling wildly, tearing it's path through the road. And it's projectile was all wrong. It was headed towards me.
But suddenly, everything I thought as a déjà vu earlier came back as flashing scenes.
Memories. And I knew what that meant.
The near to death experience was the last thing I experienced before my memory loss. But now, with the same experience of approaching death, it had triggered the memory chords. It was finally returning the missing pieces of the puzzle that I had been trying so hard to solve.
"Evelyn" a feminine voice called. And it flashed the face of a woman. Almost like me but I could see the slight differences. Her eyes were blue, they were sea blue. Her face was not oval like me but heart shaped. Her eyes were bigger than mine and her lips were more full. But I could see me in her. Her hair was black.
Mom.
Another face flashed. The male counterpart of the previous face. But his features were more sharper. His face was almost a rectangle. A thin layer of beard. His hair golden. His eyes were golden.
"My little Princess." He smiled.
The next was of them both holding me in their arms when I was a new born. Some years flashed by with some familiar faces. The most prominent one among those was that of a male friend who I had dated and had got separated because of education. But there was something itchy. Something I had figured out before memory loss about him. I tried to strain my brain for more info but the area seed to block my access. Whatever.
