SOUHAILA HAYAT DID NOT expect to find her future husband at seven years old. Although, "find" might be much of a too broad term to define how they met properly but maybe that's a discussion better suited for later.

Anyway, at seven years old, she did not expect much of anything at all. Especially not boring (and disgusting) adult stuff!

Nonetheless, she did find him. Or to be more accurate, he found her football. Coming to think of it now it wasn't that surprising. She guessed, in a way, it was ironic even.

She thought she was set for life (not at seven years old, duh!) regardless.

Promises were made, and kept.

Well, kept on only one end as it turns out.

Her end.

OR

in which Souhaila falls (against her better judgement) for the Dutch boy who she only ever sees when he visits in summer and he becomes curse and gift of her life.

OR

in which Hakim Ziyech stops visiting Morocco for a few years too many and finds that as time moved on so had the girl he so foolishly believed to already be his.

OR

in which brief enmity becomes childhood friendship, turns to teenage romance before shifting to adult estrangement.

(if wattpad refuses to save my story one more time i swear i'll....cry.)

Important!: Characters in this story will be 1) Muslim and 2) Arabs and/or Amazigh . Not all characters but probably a good majority of them.

1) That they're Muslim means that (to certain, varying extents) they'll be practicing Islam. This does not mean that they're without fault or "ideal", "perfect" Muslims.

I'd like to mention this, because I would like you to keep in mind that though this characters are Muslim, not everything they do is "Islamic" or represents Islam in any way or form.

This means, the faults you will se are those of humans and not of a religion! You'll find them (if you haven't already noticed) in any human, regardless of their religion. In fictional character, even more so!

2) That the characters are Arab....or more specifically Moroccan, on the other hand, means that there is a certain culture/traditions that I might bring into play. Keep in mind please that I write only about what I (with Moroccan parents) know, have experienced or have read about. Which is not to say that it represents Morocco or Moroccan culture as a whole.

If you have questions concerning Islam and/or Morocco feel free to ask me.

3) Sadly :( I don't know Hakim Ziyech personally (and I certainly wouldn't be writing this if I did), nor do I know his biography in any detailed form. I write what I find through research (which I really take far too much time in doing) and googling. Mainly, I have to rely on what other people found out/asked and how I view (in my subjectivity) him. If you know something I don't, please, tell me and correct me if I got it wrong. I'm grateful for any/every help.

But all else (things I don't know + things I change for the sake of the story) will be pure fiction for the sake of plot blah blah blah.

4) If you have idead/something you'd love to see, again, feel free to comment or PM that. I know fanfictions on these football players are very rare, so, I'd be glad to help.

5) Also, please recommend any fanfictions on Moroccan football players you know that I might not have found. Which brings me to...

6) This "chapter" is dedicated to the wonderful @madridisimo who has written this incredible achraf hakimi story that you have to check out!

Big shoutout to here! Because she hasn't hesitated to support me, something I really did not expect. Thank you sooo much!

7) I also got an Achraf Hakimi coming pretty soon (if wattpad also me to post it), so if you're interested, be on the lookout. [Yassine Bono fanfic is also in planning, btw].

Well, I', sorry for this outrageously long Author's Note (for the second time, yeay).

Let's get this party started!!!

here weeeee gooooo

Yours,
