Prologue

"Did you see that guy that came by yesterday! He was so handsome!!"

"That's so true I wished I could've seen him for longer!"

"Can you guys shut up for once! If your going to gossip about men at least don't do outside my room, I've been trying to sleep, but I can't if you two are nonstop taking with your annoying way to high pitched voices!"

The two girls look down away from the lady that had just insulted them.

"We're sorry Ni Gongzi..."
They both say apologizing for their behavior.

The young woman was only wearing one layer of a red robe that had one sleeve off her shoulder, with the bottom opened slightly to show one leg up to her knee. She was holding onto the sides of the sliding doors trying to support herself to not fall, because of being so tried. Her pitch black hair had a few strands sticking out here and there, with clear white pale skin.

Many people wonder how or why she was never bought to leave the house, but they could never find their answer.

Her secret was that she puts one small scar on her arm to avoid getting sold. Many of the girls in the house dream of getting bought by a handsome and rich man, and sometimes they were lucky but only for a while. Sooner or later the same man would come back in a few months either with or either the woman they bought, but when they did the woman would most of the time be beaten or had lost the shine in their eyes.

"What are you three girls doing awake?"
A slightly angered voice said.

"Madam!"
The two younger girls said then quickly bowed.

The tired young lady bowed as well. Showing her respect to the woman in front of her.

"Did you disrupt Ni Nanika from her sleep?"
The madam questioned, trying to hide her anger the two younger girls.

"Umm...."
"We did we're sorry madam!"

"You should not be apologizing to me, you two need to apologize to Nanika."

"We're deeply apologizing Ni Gongzi!"
The two girls apologized at the same time following the madams commands.

Nanika looks at the two girls and slowly loses the anger in her face. She then closes the door and heads back to bed.

The reason why Nanika wasn't because she was cold at heart, it was because the man that they we're talking about was they man that she was sent to entertain. Nanika was never mean at first, when she was small she was just like those two girls, but as she grew older she had realized is that reality is not what she imagined. She had to build a wall to protect herself, she needed to do so she wouldn't get hurt by any man or woman, she had to take all her anger and force it to make a wall for herself.

But what she said to those girls was unfortunately not act she was truly upset. It was true that, that man was her customer but what she wouldn't tell anyone was that he had tried to force her to have intercourse. When she had refused he had tried to trap her by the arm and force her down.

This was not a uncommon thing to happen every now and then, but when it does it terrifying for her. Fortunately, she was able to fight her way out, but she still had some mental scars she had to unfortunately heal by herself, or just patch them up until she passes away.
