I start walking towards William in order to avoid an awkward encounter with Zach and William. They don't know each other and I prefer it stays that way.
"What?" I ask when I reach him.
"You haven't been here for an hour and you are already allowing a guy hit on you?" he says as if it was any of his bussines.
"He wasn't hitting on me, he's not even my friend" I say rolling my eyes and looking at Zach, who is already making his way towards the building.
"Just don't be stupid, sometimes you can be so innocent. Look at what happened with Cody" he says.
"Oh gosh, would you get over freaking Cody. It affected you more than it affected me"
I snap, although it isn't entirely true, I need to say something to keep his mouth shut. I wish William had never found out because I'm sick of him bringing up Cody every single time he thinks I'm being too nice with a guy.William doesn't answer, which I am grateful for, and we stay silent as we head in direction to our respective buildings.
"Where's Victoria?" I ask
"She's abandonned me for some barbie who looks like she spilled cocoa on her face this morning" He responds. I laugh, It's funny how he critizices those kind of girls but then they are the kind of girls dates.
When we get to where all the crowd is , I start looking for familiar faces.
The only thing I see are unknown faces and Jake and his friends surrounded by the girls they were with before.
"Are you looking for anyone in special?" William asks, raising his eyebrow. He must have noticed me searching the crowd, but before I can answer, he waves goodbye and heads towards a group of boys that are signaling him to come over, leaving me hanging there alone. Very thoughtful of him.
I don't really know what I'm supposed to do now. I think we're all supposed to wait here until one of the teachers calls out our name and then they will give us a paper with our timetable and whatever else I didn't really bother to read about. But because I'm new, I don't know if I'm going to have to receive some special talk.
Where is Victoria when I need her?
Before I have time to reach out and get my phone from my pocket, to at least pretend I'm busy, I'm surprised by two girls who are now standing in front of me. One of them is a bit taller than me, she has long brown and wavy hair, freckles and light brown eyes and the other one is about the same height as me, has long curly dark hair, green eyes and olive skin color.
I don't say anything because I'm waiting for them to start the conversation, after all, they are the ones who approached me.
"Oh my gosh, can you explain to me why you are just new and you are already hanging out with the hottest guy in the school, who happens to be new as well?" the girl with the curly hair asks.
The other one rolls her eyes at her and laughs.
I suppose she's talking about William.
"He's my brother" I say, trying to hide a smile. People normally see straight away that me and William are related. It must be because we both are blond and have blue eyes and some other facial features resemble. Actually, some people are shocked when they find out it's Victoria and William who are twins and not me and William. But that's very exaggerated, William and Victoria are the same version but in different genres, it's scary.
I think the girl feels a bit embarrassed. It might be because she thinks I'll go and tell him and he'll think she's some kind of stalker. But I never tell William what girls accidentally say about him in front if me. As if his self esteem weren't high enough.
