2025 notes/edits: going from a ship i genuinely hate to a ship i think is really cute is sooo refreshing. They honestly came off like life partners throughout the manga. even if it was explicitly romantic, the amount of time they spent together (tonton loved shizune so much!!) will always be the far superior ship to jiratsu. hope they're spending the rest of their lives together with baby tonton!!!!
