guess who... wrote a xingyun fanfic despite the fact that i just met them (well i haven't met chongyun yet but he's on my team so yay)
Xingqiu was supposed to be having a normal day. He was supposed to be just simply scanning for books to read at an abandoned warehouse, which isn't suspicious at all. What he WASN'T supposed to do is meet the potential love of his life and live like one of his romance novels.
It was a normal evening while Xingqiu was just casually strolling Liyue, his nose in a book like usual, catching up with the series, when he noticed an abandoned warehouse, which seemed like it hasn't been touched in years. Xingqiu knew better than exploring abandoned warehouses, we all do, it screams disaster. But as he gazed into the door which was cracked open, he noticed there were piles of books inside, tons of them! Stacks and stacks. He rushed inside, excited to explore the wide variety of shit.
It was a tiring evening for Chongyun, on the other hand. He had spent all day training, and trying to learn how to hold a sword correctly, and how to swing the heavy thing at evil entities. After what seemed an eternity, Chongyun sat down and ate a popsicle, gazing at the view the mountains presented him when a woman walked by, and her eyes widened.
"Chongyun! You're an exorcist like your family, correct?" She exclaimed, restlessly.
Chongyun was surprised, but he managed to keep his manners, and patience.
"Yes ma'am..?"
"Oh! My father has... Passed away and.." The woman gazed at her shoes, obviously saddened from the sentence. "I'm sorry! Anyways, uhm, he had this warehouse and... I would have sworn I saw some sort of ghost in it!"
She met Chongyuns eyes with hers, and faked a smile.
"Please, I'll pay... How much do you need? 10000 mora?"
Chongyun held in a gasp at the price she was willing to pay. Chongyun wasn't very experienced at exorcism yet, and he felt guilty to be paid that much because... What if he failed? He couldn't even hold a sword, how could he do this? Chongyun shook his head at the thoughts. It was negative thoughts-- it wasn't yang at all, which isn't what he was going for.
Chongyun finally got the courage to speak:
"I... Uhm- Yes! I'll do it for free, actually!"
Chongyun instantly regretted the last part.
"Oh, thank you so much! You don't even KNOW how much this means to me, thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"Let's see... There's volume one, two, three... And it looks like we're missing four." Xingqiu muttered under his breath, reviewing the first stack of books. Xingqiu heard the slow creaking of the door, and shot upward, and looked behind him.
"Hello?" he cautiously asked, receiving a frightened response,
"Wh-Who's there?!"
Xingqiu narrowed his eyes, trying to adjust to the sunlight coming from the opened door. He made out a figure- a short (even though they're the same height) light blue colored hair, with shaggy clothes. He was practically shaking in fear, despite his cheery appearance which was quite... cute...
"Who... What are you?"
"Excuse me?"
"I-I'm Chongyun! Exorcist of Liyue and I'm here to restrain your soul from any harm to the residents of this area!"
"You must be mistaken..."
"I will not be persuaded by your-... Your charms!"
Chongyun was shaking, and whimpered in terror, and Xingqiu just shook his head.
Xingqiu smiled and walked towards Chongyun and held out his hand.
"I'm Xingqiu. I promise, I'm no... Paranormal entity."
"Eh?" Chongyun exclaimed, still scared.
"I was just checking this place out because i noticed there were some books."
"Mhm..."
Chongyun stared at the boy in front of him and his outstretched hand. He was somewhat... Pretty?
"I-I'm.... Oh, well i already gave an introduction.."
Xingiu nodded, holding back a snicker.
"Well... Uhm... I'm here because I was told there was paranormal activity here."
"People... Actually believe in this shit?"
"Excuse me?!"
"You get payed to lie?"
"N-no! Ghosts are real and-"
suddenly the two boys heard a crash from deeper inside the warehouse, and they both exchanged looks. One boy was terrified, the other was holding back laughter. You can guess who's who.
"What... What was that?!" Chongyun exclaimed.
"I don't know. Something must've fell." Xingqiu responded.
"Should we... Should we check it out?"
"Sure. I don't see why not."
The two gay boys ventured into the warehouse, stepping over the messy piles of books randomly stacked and scattered across the floor. After a while, they finally found what had made the loud crash. On the floor were boxes of candles, which were previously stacked together, had crashed down and made the mess that was presented to the homosexuals. (HSHAHA)
Xingqiu made the smart decision of bringing a book, which he brought out, sat down on one of the boxes, and started reading.
Chongyun's jaw dropped.
"Y-You're not scared?! Not at all??"
"No? Why should i be scared?"
"Because- There's a ghost here!"
"Please! Don't make me laugh."
"But-"
The sound of glass shattered as both kids faced the sound. Soon after, a booming voice came from the ceiling, shaking the building.
"YOU KIDS HAVE A LOT OF NERVE, SHOWING UP HERE, AND INSISTING I DONT EXIST!"
"Okay." Xingqiu said nonchalantly, not removing his eyes away from the book in front of him.
"Are you crazy?!" Chongyun started to say, when the sound interrupted his next words,
"HA! MORTALS ARE SO CLUELESS AND STUBBORN."
The figure where the voice had came from emerged from the shadows behind the (fallen) stack of boxes
Yeah... no... i have no idea how to write this next part?? so basically scary ghost comes omg!!! and some stuff and sarcastic xingqiu and terrified chongyun blah blah blah, exorcism stuff, anyways yeah time skip!!!
"Now do you believe in ghosts?" Chongyun whimpered.
"Yeah... Wow, I- I read all these novels and horror stories... They're all real? How crazy. I mean, it was entertaining reading the author's delusional statements and..." Xingqiu exclaimed, smiling and his widened eyes racing around the room.
Chongyun sighed and turned to leave.
"Let's get to know each other more." He whispered, loud enough for Xingqiu to hear.
"Okay." Xingqiu ran to follow him.
"Do you want to get dinner at Wanmin Restaurant or something?"
"Are you paying?"
"I... Sure?"
