44. Hatred is a Sign of Love Too?

Author's POV:

'What's going on? Just now...'
Hoseok recalled what he saw and became as red as a tomato.
'It's nothing, it's perfect normal. This always happens in the morning... No need to panic...'

Well, this doesn't always happen... Ahem anyways. He heard a knock at the door.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Yoongi asked. Hoseok quickly picked up a toothbrush from the cup and started brushing his teeth. But that was Yoongi's.
"Just brushing my teeth!"
"What did you say? I can't hear you clearly!"

Before he could enter the bathroom, Hoseok quickly went in the shower room and drew the curtain.
Yoongi looked around.
'Is he showering?'

He went to take his toothbrush but he didn't find it.
"Where's my toothbrush?"
He was startled and realized that he took the wrong one.
'Shit!'
"S-sorry... I took the wrong toothbrush."
He turned on the shower just then Yoongi opened the curtain.
"How many times have I told you? The blue one's mine!"
"Sorry..." He gave him an apologetic smile.

Yoongi went and took out a new toothbrush.
'He's wearing his underwear in the shower... He's not awake from the hangover yet, I guess.'
He finished brushing and went out.
After hearing the door closing, Hoseok peeked out from behind the curtain.
'... I gotta get a different cup to place my toothbrush.'

(Dining Hall)

Hoseok came out after showering and saw Yoongi drinking coffee again. He went over and took the can from him and drank it.
"You went over with your coffee quota this week."
After finishing it, he stood there thinking for a moment and said.
"I'm sorry."
Yoongi looked at him with questioning gaze.
"I shouldn't have hidden it from you. I didn't say much to Vernon back then. I just listened to him as he talked about you. That's when I knew... His parents were the ones that adopted you. I saw that how much you detested him. That's why I didn't want to bring it up to you."

Yoongi looked away.
'Ah, I certainly detest him. Because we were... If you knew about that...'
"Y-you know about that, right? I have no interest in females."
"Yeah... I kinda know."
'Why did he bring that up out of nowhere?'
"Back then, I got so angry... And I punched you in the face... Actually... We dated in the past."
'What?!'
Hoseok looked at him with wide eyes.
Yoongi looked at his face.
"What? Got struck by lightning?"
"N-no, uhm... Okay, I understand..."
"What do you understand?!"
"I understand you hit me good, there's nothing wrong with what you did."
"Tsk, are you dumb?"
"Hahaha..."
Yoongi suddenly grew concerned.
"Does you face still hurt..."
"It's fine now, the pain is gone a long time ago! Oh yeah, what do you want to eat? Is fried eggs okay?"
"Sure, I want two."
He hurried off to the kitchen.
'Why did you say nothing? Why didn't you ask me about it?'
Yoongi contemplated.
'Can you accept it? Or do you just not care?'

(Kitchen)

'They dated?! Those two were that close?!' 
Actually, Hoseok was shocked after getting the piece of information. He recalled the day as he cracked the eggs.
'Did he come to find me because he mistook me for Yoongi's boyfriend? Or maybe he just wanted to confirm my relationship with Yoongi? He only wishes for him to go home occassionally? Is it really that simple? No... He's still not over Yoongi yet.'

Yoongi entered the kitchen and took out bread from the refrigerator. Hoseok looked at him.
'What about Yoongi? Has Yoongi gotten over him yet? Yoongi always react sharply when it comes to him. He gets mad whenever he sees him.'

Yoongi removed the bread crust and walked to him.
"I'll leave the bread crust to you."
He said but the other stared at him and continued his inner monologue.
'Could it be that... You still care about him?'
"What's wrong?"
"Do you hate Vernon?"
He asked bluntly.
"Huh?"
"Actually, you don't have to pay attention to him no matter what he does. But you become livid whenever you hear his name. Why? How do you truly think about him in your heart?"
