Adrien was gone, Gabriel was busy, and Emi had to stay at his house for a week.

Maybe longer if her mother decided she never wanted to come back, which Emi was certainly fine with.

Emi sighed as she lay sprawled out on the huge bed, already dressed in comfortable clothes that took twenty minutes to put on thanks to her useless limb.

Natalie has come in earlier to politely tell her that Emi's mother took zero pity whatsoever, and to practice her violin.

Emi replied politely to Natalie, and told her she would but after Natalie left she started to mercilessly strangle one of the feather pillows on the bed.

Hobbling over to the violin case we whipped it out quite harshly and when she held the instrument by the wooden neck, with the hand that gripped the bow of the violin, Emi used her index finger to press against her bottom lip in thought.

What if I just ' accidentally ' broke my violin?

The evil thought crossed her mind but she just sighed and shook her head.

" She'd just buy me a new one and take away another part of my freedom. " Emi sighed boredly and sat on the edge of her bed on the left side, resting her chin on the edge of the violin and gliding the bow over the strings, and pleasant music started to fill the room.

Emi didn't find it pleasing at all, instead she found it annoying.

She could play all of the songs known to man on this god forsaken instrument so why did she have to constantly play it again and again?

Releasing her frustration on the instrument, Emi started to play louder, faster, stronger, until she closed her eyes with furrowed brows and jerked the wooded surface away from her face.

she laid back on the bed, her violin in her left hand and her bow in her right, and sighed childishly.

" That was cool. " a nasally voice said, and instead of jerking up to assess who's voice it is, she just rolled her eyes.

" To people who haven't heard it ever since they could speak. "

"Your bad mood is putting me in a bad mood. "
the voice says, but their voice hasn't really changed.

Emi let go of her instrument and it's bow and crossed her arms over her chest.
" You can leave if you want. I mean, you are apart of my imagination. It would be better if you left so nobody thinks I've lost my mind, "

Then Emi jerked up. " the famous Emi Beasuéjoúr,
is in fact a nut. She's purposely gotten involved in previous akuma attacks for attention. Now she's talking to herself in famous Gabriel Agreste's mansion! "

She says, and amused and lazy chuckles fell from the voice. " Yeah, you do sound crazy. "

" You aren't helping. " Emi picked the violin back up and started to play it a bit quietly, but she wondered if she could hear the voice if she played loudly, if it was in her head.

She started to play the theme to Howl's Moving Castle, and the voice was quiet.

"Do you mean to get involved? " they finally say, and Emi sighed.

" No. I always try to mind my own business but it's like this- this random creature follows me around and makes me get into these situations. "

" I think you're just delusional. " the lazy voice crawls, and Emi closed her eyes and huffed.

"How did my conscience make such an annoying voice? "

" I'm sure you're more annoying than me. "

Emi continues to play softly, and looked down at her cast with dull eyes. " That may be true. "

" I was looking for you. You weren't at home so I looked around the whole town for you. "

Emi gave an unladylike snort. " Why would a figment of my imagination come looking for me?"

" Because you're like me, and I like that you're like me. So I like you. "

Emi turned to see where the voice was coming from, but it was an empty space.

Emi just sighed and continued to play the violin, until there was a gentle knock on the door to her temporary bedroom.

"Come in. " she said politely, taking the bow of the violin away from the strings.

She was immensely surprised to see Gabriel, and she lowered the instrument from her chin.

" Mr. Agreste... Hello. " she gave a slight bow of her head, and he gave a smile.

" Good late afternoon, Emi. I couldn't help but hear your violin from my office, the way you play... it's beautiful. " he says, and Emi laughs politely.

" It's like a second nature to me. I could probably play in my sleep. " Emi says, and lowered the violin even lower.

" Why don't you come out for a while? You must be familiar with this room already. "

Emi ran her thumb over the horse hair that was stretched from one length of the stick to the other.

" I am, but it's alright. I wouldn't want to bother anyone with my... situation. " she says, and Gabriel shook his head.

"Don't worry, it's not a problem. I'd like to hear more of your skills down stairs. " Gabriel says, and Emi nodded and got up on her good foot, and then grabbed her crutches that leaned on the wall next to a desk at the other end of the room.

Emi actually had a good time, and smiled softly when Gabriel seemed to be reminiscing, probably about his late wife as Emi played.

The flow of music quieted when Adrien opened the black and white door to the small room containing chairs and many photo's of the blonde male, as well as a long and beautiful painting of Emilie Agreste.

" Father? Emi? " Adrien asked in shock, looking between the taller man and Emi's standing form, her violin tucked underneath her chin.

" Ah, Adrien. Exceptional, isn't she? " Gabriel said with a small smile, and Adrien seemed so shell-shocked that he went back a step.

" Oh... I, uh- yeah, she is. " Adrien looked back over to Emi, who smiled and put the violin back in the case.

" Thank you for playing for me, Miss Beasuéjour."
Gabriel said, and she bowed deeply.

"Thank you for letting me play. Shall we go? " She turned back to Adrien, who was being tailed by Natalie, reminding him that his Chinese lesson was in about ten minutes.

" My father really asked you to play for him? "
Adrien asked quietly, to which Emi nodded quickly.

" He came into my room and asked me himself, so I did. How was school? " Emi asked, walking up the stairs slowly, as Adrien watched carefully.

" It was fine, the same as usual. "

Emi glanced at him in the corner of her eye, and shrugged.

" No homework for me? " she asked, her head cocked to the side while eyeing his multi-colored bag.

" None from Miss. Bustier, but a lot of Science. "
Adrien says, pulling sheets of paper out of his bag, as well as a thick textbook.

Emi sighed quietly as he set it in her awaiting hands, resulting in him to chuckle.

"I'll help you after my Chinese lesson. " he assures, and Emi smiled gratefully.

" Thank you, Adrien. "
