Chapter 3

Ava decided to sit with her new friend leaving me awkwardly standing . Eddie looks over smiling at my awkward self . "Come over here Harper you can sit beside me , the boys will move over". He stares daggers at them until they move up .

After that encounter I sat down listening to Eddies storytelling. It was cute how passionate he is about the game. I eventually zoned out and they all began yelling. Something about "to the death" whatever that's about. We get to the end of the game and all that needs to happen is for Erica to land a 20 on the dice for them to win against Eddie. The suspense surely looked to be killing them even Ava.

Erica landed the dice on a 20. They all happily danced around. "That's why we play". Eddie says still seemingly happy even though he lost. He starts cleaning up his stuff kicking everyone out. I stay and try help clean up. He tells me I'm doing it all wrong and that I don't know where it goes. Although he doesn't seem annoyed by my presence.

"I'm assuming you want a lift home". " only if it's not a problem I just didn't want Ava to complain while we walk home , if you can't it's no problem". I ramble on nervously. "It's no problem sweetheart, we can't have her little legs getting tired". He smirked. "Thank you so much, I'll wait outside if I'm bothering you". "You could never bother me Harper." "I wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out anyways". "After we drop Ava home that's sounds good." I smile anxious of the thought being alone with him.

"I just have to pick up Chrissy to give her some stuff and I'm all yours." He winks at me. Maybe I was a little jealous of Chrissy they are probably just friends. I have no reason to be jealous of whatever is going on between them anyways . I thought scolding myself . "Of course that's fine with me." I smile back at him. "Okay let's get a move on then."

Mike approaches us with Ava. "What took yous so long". "Chill out Mike I was just helping Eddie clean up". He ignores me giving Eddie a death stare. This kid. "Are you ready to go" Eddie gestures to his van. "Come on Ava". "You better only be dropping her home". "Can't make any promises with that wheeler". Eddie smirks . I walk off ignoring their childish antics .

Ava is a very shy little girl which is why I was very surprised when she started chatting away to Eddie on the drive home. "Eddie". "Yes Ava". "Do you think maybe I could play with yous like Erica did today." "Hmm on one condition". Eddie whispers something to her and they look in my direction. It better not be what I think there talking about. "Nope no sorry Ava it's not happening I don't know how to play".
