I chuckle. "I wouldn't want to deal with her either. If she commits a crime, you better treat her like any other citizen, ya know, as payback for treating the sheriff the way she treats you. "
She shakes her head. "She treats me like that because I'm Henry's biological mother. She sees me as a threat. "
I look at Henry. "You call your biological mother by her first name? " I ask in disbelief.
Donnie smacks me upside the head and looks at Emma. "Excuse my brother, he lacks a certain finesse when it comes to this sort of thing."
I glare at him. "Says the one who's a know it all a hundred percent of the time. "
Raph rolls his eyes. "Do you know where we can stay? We came here on vacation after all," he asks Emma.
Emma smiles. "There's an establishment called Granny's. It's an inn as well as a diner. Leo knows where it is."
I look at her, dumbfounded. "That place is an inn too?!"
