IT had only been the following morning when tragedy finally struck. Natalie Ryan, a well known celebrity, and her fiancé had been murdered.

Athena had immediately locked the door to the guest room she was staying in, her hands on her hips as she looked over the pictures of the three victims. The first victim, along with the latest, looked undeniably like Lila. Blonde hair, blue eyes, nice-cut jaw, sharp nose. Athena had been working all day on this, writing down idea after idea on what this could be. What was this connection?

"Surrogates?" Athena mumbles under her breath, squinting at the pictures and tilting her head to the side. "But why the producer? Why him?"

It was like driving somewhere and hitting a road block. You're stuck, but you can see the other side just around the workers, you just can't get to it. That was how Athena currently felt as she stared at the photos, before inevitably giving up on picking at her brain. She then puts them back up on her board alongside their respective news articles.

The news article about the producer only said he was robbed, not mentioning the fact he no longer walked this earth. That confused Athena as well; how could they miss that detail? Of course, she only knew because the head of the LAPD and the detective of the case immediately contacted her and sent her whatever information they could.

"April! Oh my God..." Lila's voice echoed throughout the house. "April!"

Athena quickly shoved the board into the giant bathroom connected to the room, slamming the door shut behind it. Brushing some strands of black hair from her face and pulling on the best smile she could —because April Smith only smiled around Lila— and opened the door to the girl.

Lila was distraught, her hair was in a messy ponytail and her clothes looked slightly out of place. But in her hands, which were shaking already, were two items. One, a news article about Natalie Ryan's death with the words "you owe me" written in red ink. Two, an envelope with a red seal, which looked like it contained something inside.

When Athena said she wanted action, she didn't know it would come this direct.

"Go tell Michael and then have him call the police," she then takes the envelope from her before taking her phone out to get a picture of the article. "Hell, we should probably go down there ourselves."
