Isabella shut the door to her black chevy Malibu and clicked the lock button on her keys and shoved them into her black purse. She could feel the warm air against her arms as she placed her sunglasses in front of her eyes. She strutted towards the nearest hardware store in her area to pick up something for her father. They had recently moved to Stars Hollow and the house needed some work done. Her father needed to repair some sink pipes in the bathrooms and kitchen. He sent her because he was busy trying to do other repairs.
She entered the store and immediately smelled the aroma of freshly cut lumber, metal, and paint mixed together. She looked around the store to find the tool section specifically looking for a wrench her father needed. She pulled out her phone and immediately called him.
"Hello", her father answered.
"Hi, dad..uh I got here to the hardware store already and I found the wrench section but I'm not sure which one you wanted?", she responded, lifting her sunglasses above her head.
"Yeah the wrench is called a pipe wrench and it should be there."
"I'm looking for the pipe wrench..but they all look the same."
As her father was depicting what it looked like on the phone to help you distinguish it from the others but a man in a blue and white flannel, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, with a blue baseball cap on backwards interrupted as her father's voice turned into low mutters while she pulled the phone slightly away from her ear, "I believe the wrench your looking for is this one right here", the tall man said. He had a deep voice.
He grabbed it from the shelf and handed it to her. She looked up at him with a smile, grateful he was able to distinguish it for her. He had a serious facial expression splattered across his face, looking at the wrench he held toward her. He looked up to her and his expression slightly changed, his eyes widened but not too noticeably.
"Thank you so much!", she exclaimed to the older looking man.
"Dad I'm going to go pay for it, bye."
"Okay bye I love you."
"I love you too dad bye", she said as she hung up.
She stood in front of the older looking man with the wrench in her hand. "Where is the manager so I can explain to them what an outstanding employee you are! They'll have to give you a raise!", Isabella said jokingly. She stared at him in awe. He was beautiful.
"Funny you assume that I work here", the man in the flannel said.
"Thank you so much ya know because or else I would've been here for hours not knowing what I was looking for", she replied, making eye contact with him.
"No problem. Ya know my father owned a hardware store so it's easy for me to determine which tool is which", the man replied back.
"Well I am pretty sure that is some helpful knowledge to contain in that noggin of yours", she said jokingly. She heard a low chuckle come from him.
"Well I should get going and pay. I have to get this to my dad", Isabella stated.
"Yeah no go ahead", the flannel guy said.
"Bye."
"Bye."
She walked away from him and smiled to her herself. She thought he was a handsome older guy.
Isabella had always been into older men, this wasn't anything new. She always had crushes on her teachers and her friends older brothers. People her age never really interested her.She walked towards the front of the store and approached the cashier. She quickly paid for her father's tool and walked back to her car. She put the keys into the ignition and let the car warm up for a minute. She took the sunglasses off her head and placed them in her car along with her purse. That handsome man she met in the store didn't leave her mind.
"I have to stop thinking about him, I'll never see him again anyways", she thought to herself. She shook her head and rubbed her eyes. With that thought, she attached her seatbelt and drove home.
