"This is really dumb," Shinazugawa Genya grumbled as he walked into the almost empty school library.

His elder brother, Shinazugawa Sanemi, also known as the maths teacher, had forced him to join an after-school activity, since he was, 'tired as shit with seeing you stand outside the staffroom waiting for me', to repeat his exact words.

Like football isn't enough already.”

And the world history teacher, Rengoku Kyojuro, being the abnormally participative person he is, said, or more like shouted, 'You should have a study partner! And I know just who could fit the role!"
He suggested his younger brother.
And Sanemi agreed.

The only problem was that his younger brother was a junior high schooler. Which was two years below Genya.

He didn't see the point of studying after classes were done. And the fact that his new study partner was a minor proved his point more.

It's not like he hated the boy or anything. He hadn't even talked to him before. Just seen him pass through the halls(made accidental eye contact once or twice).

And he wasn't hard to miss, too.
But he wasn't a loud person, like Rengoku-san.
From Genya's point of view, he was actually rather quiet.
Oh no, Rengoku Senjuro's only thing that made him an eye-catcher was how he looked.

Just like Rengoku-san, he had blonde-yellow hair with bright red tips. He had bright gold like pupils under pitch black eyebrows. And  his face always had a soft expression.
It was hard to believe someone like him was related to the talkative history teacher.

Wait, now that I think about it, perhaps it'll be easy to do this,” Genya thought, skimming through the manga section.
Rengoku-san did say they could work things out together. And he needed help in Chemistry. Failing that subject was the last thing he wanted to do.
Second to last.
(Maths was most definitely last.)

As he passed the tragedies section, the senior noticed fire resembling hair. Positive it was Senjuro, Genya went behind the boy and tapped his shoulder.
The boy shut the book he was reading and turned around fast.
Too fast.
He hit Genya's side with the spine of the book.

Hard.

"Ow-!" Genya slightly doubled and winced in pain, clutching his side.
"Ah! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hit you!" the boy dropped the book, his words rushing out.
"I'm fine, I'm okay," Genya huffed, then straightened his stance, making a winner's smile.
"Yeah, I am completely fine."
"Are you sure?" the boy asked, looking concerned.
"I said I'm fine, don't worry," Genya smiled and laughed briskly to lighten the mood.

The boy's face immediately relaxed. He bent down to pick the book he dropped, and Genya noticed he had tied his hair back in a ponytail. It was quite long, he thought.

"You must be Genya, right?" he questioned.

I'm feeling goofy, let's play a trick on this kid.”

"No. Who's that?"
The boy's face turned red and he started apologizing for mistaking him.
"Hey, I was joking," Genya said.
"It's nice to meet you, Senjuro, right?" he stretched his hand out.
The boy stared at the hand for a moment before laughing softly.
"Same here. And yes, it is." he put his hand in the latter's.

Genya was a little taken back by how soft his hand was. Actually, the minor's whole appearance was soft. The way he talked, his smile; it was almost a bit...
