'Mom, can we please head to the bookshop? Please?' Michael pulled me towards a little bookshop called tulip. Audrey was right behind us clutching her new handbag in hand.

Today started out just great. We've been here at the mall for about 3 hours now. Shopping bags were clinging onto my arms as Micheal continued wailing.

'Hold on, Michael. I might fall down.' With that, Michael stopped walking and looked at me. A few moments later, Audrey bumped into me uttering a grunt.

'Mom, they have the new famous five book!' Michael jumped out of excitement holding my hand.

My hand went flying up and down as Michael jumped. The bystanders looked at us with a grin on their faces. Audrey was smiling too.

Michael started to pull me again and he didn't stop till we got to the bookstore. Audrey came in a few moments after. I placed the heavy bags in the corner to catch my breath.

The bookstore looked way bigger than it looks on the outside. There were piles of books in a corner old, rusty, and obviously for the aesthetic of the bookstore.

Michael rushed to the children's sector where rows of famous five books were kept. Audrey rushed to the science fiction sector. Audrey isn't a kid who's that interested in reading but after seeing this, she looked very interested.

'Not many kids like reading nowadays but they look interested.'

A man probably in his 60s approached with a genuine smile on his face. He was short and bald-headed.

'Ah yes, they can be very surprising at certain times but very intelligent.' I said with a proud smile on my face.

He pulled out his hand for me to shake. 'I'm jimmy, the owner of this shop.' I took the hand in a handshake and smiled. 'It's nice to meet you jimmy.'

Audrey peeked her head out of the science fiction sector and signaled me to come. I shot a smile at the old man and left his side to join my daughter.

'Mom, look at this book.' She handed me a book with a pink color background and a white flower. The story title was written in bold at the top of the book; 'daisies and monsters.'

'It looks lovely honey; do you want to pick it?' I asked a hand on her shoulder.

'Can I?' she looked up at me. 'Yes of course you can!'

Just in time, Michael came running to me with a famous five book in his hand. 'I have it! I have the new book.' He was beaming, waving around the book.

I took the two books and headed to the counter. Jimmy was talking with a customer while holding a brochure. After the customer left, I hurriedly handed jimmy the two books.

'Oh, the new famous five book. We just brought it yesterday and already sold a dozen! I'm sure you'll love this one lad!' jimmy said swapping the book across the QR code reader.

'Oh, I am so excited for this book sir. I can't wait to read it!'

Jimmy took Audrey's books and grinned at her. 'you'll also love this honey! My granddaughter read it a few days ago and she doesn't stop talking about it!'

Audrey escaped a few giggles and Jimmy pat her head. I took the bag and collected the other bags I had accompanied.

'Okay, so I have another surprise for you kids.' I said exiting the bookstore.

'Surprise? Mom, what could be better than this?' Michael said still admiring his book.

'you guys wanna go to the movies?'
