*Sofia POV*

Many questions formed in my mind. What? How? When? All these questions turn into confusion. I couldn’t believe it was him. It has been a year but he still looked the same. I swear I was careful with my steps and interactions.

I couldn’t let him take me away. Not after how many years I wasted my freedom with him. I shook away the fear and held my head high. I put a confused look on my face. “It’s Marissa not Sofia.” I pointed out. I said it confidently but inside I was quivering in fear.

He took one step. “Really?” He asks with his eyebrows raised. I nodded. "Funny how you look exactly like her but with different hair and eyes." He commented.

I rolled my eyes. "Look, you got yourself confused. I may look like her but she probably has different features just like you said." I explained.

"Alright, looks like I got the wrong person. Sorry to bother you." He finally said. I sighed in relief, internally, thinking it was all over. "Although." He started. Oh what now?

"She's a smart person. She knows how to get away with things and get out of a dangerous situation." He paused for a while. "She may be in Mexico or this place. Or maybe she is you."

At this point, I wanted to run out of the apartment and just keep running away as long as I'm far away from him but the fear inside of me locked my feet to the ground making me unable to move.

"You're wrong." I stammered.

"Alright, first of all I know that your hair is not naturally blonde. You could already tell by one look that it is damaged. You're also wearing blue contact lenses, I found a whole box of them in your bathroom." He explained.

"These are just regular contact lenses." I defend.

“If you say so, why don’t I take it off myself and let’s see who here is right and wrong.” He said in a menacing tone.

Those words were enough for me to walk backwards, which isn’t doing anything because when I just took a step back he came forward in big steps. I walked myself backwards till I was blocked by something, I looked behind and saw it was my fridge.

When I turned to look at him and instead of him still stalking towards me, he was already in front of me. His body pressed into mine, one of his hands reached to my waist while the other held my face. I tried to turn my face away but I couldn’t turn it because he put a strong grip on it, forcing me to look at his icy stare.

One of his hands left my waist and I felt it creeping up to my eye. I felt his fingers taking the thin plastic out of my right eye and did the same to my left one.

Once he was done, he let out a small laugh and a sickening smile. “Hola amor, ¿cómo estás?” He whispered huskily. I grimace at his voice. I yanked his hand away and made a run for it but he grabbed my hand and pressed me to the wall.

(How are you?)

“I hope you miss me.” He said. He leaned till our lips were an inch away. “Just like how I missed you.” He said huskily.

His lips were so close, it was so close that I couldn’t even move an inch. I could feel the heat between ourselves multiplying every breath we let out on each other’s faces. The heat was like pulling me to him, urging me to kiss them and let our lips mold perfectly just like the past. No  No I can’t let him get to me.

"This can't be happening. How?" I asked in disbelief. I was careful with every action I took. I was careful because I couldn’t risk going back to the dangerous man who I once loved.

He let out a sickening grin on his face and held my chin. He traced my lips softly using his thumb. "You’re mine, bebê. No matter how many times you run and hide. No matter what country you are hiding in. I will always find you.” He said maliciously.

I let out a heavy breath as I felt his hot breath fanned to my mouth. The hotness started to go down to my jaw. I turned my face away from the hot air that was landing at my jaw, but he sternly grabbed a hold of my face and put it back to its original position. His lips touched my chin and he went down to my neck.

I felt shivers run down my spine out of fear or….attraction. No I can't. I can't let him get through me, not after what I've been through.

His hot breath fanned at my sweet spot. My breath hitched and I shuddered. All of a sudden, he started attacking it by sucking it.

I bit the inside of my cheeks to hold my moans. I tried to get away from him but he kept pinning me down. "Stop." I managed to let out.

He didn't stop, in fact he just kept on doing it more. "I said stop." I said while squirming and thrashing around his hold. Then I did something unimaginable.

I kicked him where the sun doesn't shine with my knees. He pulled away and crouched down. He groaned in pain. This gave me time to run out of the apartment.

I was about to reach the stairs before I felt myself being picked up by the waist while a hand flew over my mouth.

I started squirming in his hold and before I knew it we were back in my apartment. "LET GO OF ME, PUTA!!!" I manage to scream out.

He covered my mouth again and put me down. Suddenly I felt a cold thin metal being pressed at my throat. I froze as I realized what the object was. "Listen to me and every word I say." He demanded, to which I nod vigorously.

"I'm gonna let my hand go from your mouth and you're not going to scream a single thing otherwise I will slit your throat out." He threatened and I nod vigorously.

He put his hand away from my mouth slowly while tears threatened to spill out.

I felt his hand at my cheek and he turned my head to face him. I was surprised that he has adoration and guilt in his eyes because he usually has anger and rage inside of him.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked shakingly.

"You." He replied shortly. "I'm sorry." He said so suddenly.

I pulled out a confused look until he put a cloth in my mouth. I gasped and the smell from the cloth was horrid. Chloroform. I tried my best to stay awake from the dizziness and drooping eyes.

"Just close your eyes, bebê." I heard him whisper in my ear before a pitch darkness took over me.
