Going Home

I was already planning on coming home for Christmas since I graduated from Julliard earlier this year. Then I got a call from Jayden. He proposed to Theo and they are having a Christmas wedding. I was so happy for them and really excited the only problem is I told my parents that I was dating someone. I told Jayden I was in a long distance realitionship and they live in California. I was hoping they forgot but I called my parents before my flight and they said they were so excited to finally meet the person I was dating. I spent all the flight thinking of excuses but none of them sounded legit.

Luckily my parents insisted on picking me up from the airport so that bought me some time. On the way home we said once we dropped off my stuff we would go to Ulta they wanted to get me something.

That didn't take long. So we were on the way to Ulta. The line was so long to get in luckily. My parents started asking questions. Then the question I was scared can up. "So when will we meet the person you are dating?" Just as I was saying, "ummm," A girl gives me a back hug and says, " babe I've been looking for you." She is around the same height as me. She was wearing a cute floral dress. She had a bow in her hair. My parents gave us space then wanted to hear all about us. I ask why she did that. She explained she just wanted to help. She asked why they were curious. I told her my best friend Jayden was getting married to Theo. She said, " wait theo Pierce?" I said, " yeah." She said, " he's my cousin this is so perfect I needed a date if you want to be mine?" I said yes. She seem really nice.

Her name is Layla. I told her my name is Natalie. She asked if she could call me Nat. That's perfect actually. My parents totally bought it. We made it seem like we've know each other for years.
