Backstory:
Merlot owns a company named after himself, similar to SDC. Merlot was researching a way to weaponize grimm by experimenting on children, infecting them with Grimm DNA.
Merlot was in Athena, a fifth kingdom that was an expansion of Atlas, located on dragon island which is close to the land of darkness. Merlot's experiments broke loose which lead to the downfall of Athena.
After the kingdom fell, Merlot went into hiding, his motives still remain unclear.
