You skid to a stop at the Bakugo's door, ringing the doorbell over and over as you try to catch your breath.

No one answers and you remember what Katsuki mentioned earlier- shopping with his mom. So that meant they weren't here, and Masaru was probably at work...

Tears well in your eyes and you blink them away, taking a deep breath. A lock has never stopped you before, and it's not about to now.
Mitsuki once said you're always welcome, and you prayed that was true as you search for something sharp. The grass of their perfectly manicured lawn wielded nothing useful.

You prodded the cut on your cheek, but it had already stopped bleeding. Your face was slick with sweat from your sprinting- but no blood.
"For fuck's sake..." You mumble, and roll your sleeve up. Your tongue traces your sharp canines, and the sudden memory of your teeth tearing into someone's flesh makes you shudder. You can almost hear the cries of "vampire" surrounding you, and-

To distract yourself from reminiscing, you pinch yourself. It works, and you bring your wrist to your lips before you can change your mind. It wasn't the pain you were scared of- no, it was the memories.

You barely notice the pain as you bite yourself. Your scar-flecked arms had long since lost their sensitivity. The familiar tang of blood fills your mouth, and you spit it into your hands.

Activating your quirk, you quickly shape your blood into a thin, sharp pick. You jam it in the lock and jimmy it around until you hear a click.
Grinning in triumph, you push the door open and, glancing behind you, close it behind you as you walk in.

You double-check the lock before you let yourself relax, and then kick off your shoes and set them on the rack, next to Katsuki's hideous orange crocs.

You release your quirk and the pick liquifies, warm blood pooling in your cupped hands, a bit spilling down your chin as you quickly gulp it down. You take care not to drip on the Bakugo's nice floors as you hurry to Katsuki's bathroom.

Your head starts to hurt as you use your quirk to stop your arm's bleeding. You grab an All Might band-aid from the cabinet under the sink and then wash your hands. And arms. And face. And then brush your teeth. (You feel gross.) Mitsuki always has some extra toothbrushes on hand because of how quickly Katsuki goes through his. You wish he was next to you, screaming for his germs to die.

You hate asking him for help, which is why you're dreading the conversation about Toga when he gets home. You're already too dependent on him- especially as a kid, you were always following him around. The relentless bullying finally ceased when Katsuki beat the shit out of some guy for mocking your dead mother. People don't bother you anymore- they know you're Katsuki's (only) friend, and they're all scared of him.

You remember when your peers used to be afraid of you. They've long since realized that you might win in a fight.. but they just have to tattle and everyone immediately shifts the blame to the unstable orphan.

It's pathetic. You can't wait another week for summer break. Middle school fucking sucked, but maybe high school would be a welcome change of pace.

You entertained yourself with thoughts of high school. You weren't sure where you wanted to go... not UA with Katsuki, that's for sure. It was about time you learned to take care of yourself.

Flopping onto his bed, you sigh. UA might be full of entitled assholes, but everyone knows it's a great school with a great staff.

The hero life just isn't for you. Your mom hated them, and you would never dishonor her wishes like that. You had no desire to sacrifice everything for some unappreciative, flawed society.

All the running earlier was starting to catch up to you. You yawned and yanked on the blanket, but Katsuki made his bed so perfectly that the sheets barely lifted. You ended up wiggling underneath them, feeling more like you're in a sleeping bag than a bed.

Irregardless, it was warm, and safe... your eyes fluttered shut as you dozed off.

Katsuki slams his door shut, ignoring his mother screaming for him to help unpack the groceries. The old hag is more than capable.

He wanted to play Warzone to blow off some steam. Shopping with that woman pissed him off- she always tried to buy shitty, bruised produce.

The boy was about to sit at his desk when he noticed his unmade bed. Katsuki's palms immediately started smoking, making loud "pop" noises.

The pops woke you and you sat up, yawning. Katsuki doesn't hesitate before firing an explosion at you with a cry of "DIE!"

"Kats?" You mumble, still groggy. His red eyes widen and he lowers his palm, confused.

"Blood bitch?"

The familiar nickname makes your eyes water. You're just so glad he's here- you're so glad that Toga didn't get to him.

Katsuki sits next to you and scoffs awkwardly. He's not used to seeing you cry- he isn't sure what to do. He just knows he doesn't like it, and wants to change the subject. So instead of asking what's wrong, he says: "Why the hell were you sleeping in my bed?"

"I wanted to be safe..." You whisper, and lean into him. He sits there in shock as you hug him, crying, and wonders if this is what it's like being an older brother. He's used to arguing with you, and sticking up for you.. but this vulnerability was new. Something is wrong.

"You're safe with me." Katsuki answers after a moment, and pats the top of your head. "But (Y/n), what the fuck is going on?"

You sniffle. "The girl from the alley. She found me and then she.. she attacked me."

Katsuki just sits there, frozen with rage. "The fuck? Did you beat her ass?"

"I ran away." You blush, ashamed to admit it. "I just knew she's dangerous, and I was remembering the bullying, and I felt like a mouse under a panther's paw, and-"

"She's a crazy piece of shit! I'll beat her fucking ass for you!"

You know it's his unique way of showing he cares. Katsuki might have only said he would beat her ass... but you've known him long enough to decipher the true meaning: he'll protect you. If he's willing to get into yet another fight with someone because of you, then it means he cares. Cares enough to throw hands for you benefit.

"Thanks, Kats." You say quietly and he sighs, resting his chin on the top of your head.

"Whatever, blood bitch. I swear you always find a way to get into trouble. You're probably damn scared to be alone, huh? Why don't you just stay here, so I don't have to worry about you being all pathetic."

"Okay!"

You snuggle back under his covers and he just sighs again. You're quick to fall asleep- Something about Katsuki is very reassuring.

After a few minutes, the blonde boy stands up and readjusts the blankets over you, gazing down at you with a concerned expression. He would never admit it- but he's worried about you.

He goes to help his mother finish unpacking the groceries, but doesn't stop thinking about the "sister" of his sleeping peacefully in his bed. He wonders when the last time was you slept so soundly.

I imagine (Y/n) and Katsuki with a sibling
relationship. Because of their moms being best friends, they grew up spending lots of time together... And then when (Y/n) was orphaned, she actually did live with him for a few years. So yeah, siblings.
Yes i KNOW this isnt about Katsuki and Y/n but i really need to develop their relationship! it's super important later on, you'll see.
