"Kate hurry up we're going to be late!" yelled my mom.

"I'm coming!"

"Kate what took you so long?"

"Sorry mom, I was looking for my converse"

"alright well let's go" said my mom.

We were heading to a business meeting my dad had, it wasn't formal. It was going to be at our lake house. I wasn't really paying attention to what we were going to be doing, but I was planning on going out on a canoe.

Right when we got there, my mom was setting up a picnic blanket for the guests.

"Mom can I go to the canoes?"

"Sure honey just don't be late, you know your father hates it."

"alright mom!"

I headed to the canoes, it was my favorite part of the lake.

"Sir! One canoe ple... excuse me? I was here first"

"sorry I didn't see you the... Hey Kate!"

"I looked up to a pair of blue eyes,

"hey there Will! I haven't seen you or your family in a long time!"

"Yea! I know since last summer, we had left to go to California because of my dads business" he said.

"oh cool!"

Will was a friend of mine, we became friends in 4th grade after he accidentally gave me a concussion, hitting me with a basketball. He was tall, he was about 6'2, blonde hair and diamond blue eyes. He was attractive, I had a crush on him in 8th grade through 10th grade. I stopped liking him because I thought he would never see me the same way.

"Well, I'll see you later K-T"

"Ahahaha see you later Will"

I rode on my canoe, I stopped and got off. I went and sat down on one of the benches, I took my shoes off and stuck my feet out in the water.

6 years have passed, and no sign of Jay. I was now 17, thinking that Jay would come back. Unfortunately, I overheard my parents talking about them 2 years ago saying that Jay and his family might never come back. This had caused me to have a deep depression over the school year, but I hid it. I had plenty of friends to have fun with, I was in the dance team which sent my mind off of it. It is pretty great, I found out that dance is my true passion. All these years I've spent waiting for my best friend to come back since I was a child had made me forget about it. I couldn't forget Jay, he was my first kiss.

I got to our picnic area to see a family. They were two oddly familiar adults, and I couldn't see the guy.

"Hey Katie! Long time we haven't seen you!" said the man,

"um thanks! same to uh you all!"

The mysterious guy turned around.

"you?" I exclaimed.
