the problem had always
been you.

"I'm fairly certain I told you to be extra careful with your morning cleaning... because the particulate matter is especially bad today. Did I not?" The teacher exclaimed, staring at the grey area on his finger after he swiped it on the window sill.

With a grab of the face and a shove of that finger into the mouth, it brought the boy into a coughing fit. The creases of your eyebrows frowned in an uncomfortable manner, as you stared at the scene in distaste.

"Don't spit it out." He said. "That dust is there because you didn't clean properly. It's only fair you swallow it, no? It's because you halt-*ss everything that people started calling you trash."

"That was my fault. I was the one that cleaned the windows this morning," You chair screeched against the floor as you stood up with one hand slightly raised.

You strided towards the front of the class, putting yourself infront of the poor boy, wondering what he was about to say next. Then you came to a realization of what you were doing. Why had you done that?! You body seemed to have moved before you could think of anything.

"I see, and why were you doing his cleaning duties?"

"Because I was bored," you monotonously answered. To him and everyone else, you were a scholarship student that had recently transferred, but only you knew the real reason why you were there.

Sangyeol Cheon might be the definition of *sshole, but you were about to be the definition of what the Devil meant.

For a teacher, he really was doing sh!t at his job. And it wasn't just him. Other teachers were just as terrible, and if not, worse than what Sangyeol was. You took a deep breathe, just a few more hours and Hwajin would be here to wreck havoc to this school.

You were being let off the hook, just as you predicted. Dumb*ss.

Given a small break, you dragged the boy with you until you reached to where the washrooms were.

"Go wash your mouth, I'll go get some water to drink." you literally had to push him into the toilets before you could run off to the closest vending machines. When Hyunwoong finally got out, looking much better than before, you shoved a bottle of water at the boy.

"Why did you do that? You could have said nothing like the rest of the class," he broke the silence, but replaced it with an awkward tension instead. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.
You kept quiet for a moment, not knowing how to reply to that question. Then you sighed as you slouched against the wall behind you.

"I did clean the windows yesterday. I was just admitting to my mistakes. I'm not a coward, y'know?"

The silence came back. Neither of you not knowing what to say after that. Until then, you shifted your gaze from the bottle in your hand to the boy in front of you.

"Guess I'm just that bad at cleaning..."you finally said, after a long minute of being so deep in your thoughts.

It made the boy smile a little. Though, you had to admit...a smile really does suit him.

'that does not even make sense,'

"You are," He says. "But it's okay. Practice makes perfect, you can hone your skills afterschool during cleaning later." He jokes. You never knew he could joke. "I'll help you," Neither did you know your heart could skip a beat like that.

It shouldn't do that.

You scoffed with a tug at the end of your lips, bringing it to an upwards curl. "I'll take that offer into consideration. Now go on, before Mr. Cheon finds anymore reason to shove anything else into your mouth... I'm right behind you,"

You watched as the boy's figure get smaller and smaller as he walked deeper down the hallway. Best be careful, you were playing a dangerous game.
