Life As It Is

On the night of Valentine's Day, a young lady Bloom, was rushing home but the rain got in the way. Suddenly she found herself in a house but it was surely not her own, she could barely remember anything all she could think about was, "What happened? What  am I doing here? How did I get here?".

Then a young man walked in, in her eyes he was a shining star but she couldn't get over the fact she was in a stranger's house. The man said, "What was a beautiful lady like you doing in the rain at that time of the day?" she answered with silence, not knowing what to say. "Well, it looks like I'm going to be the one doing the talking, my name is Lucas.", he said. "Mine is Bloom, nice to meet you". Bloom had not known this guy nor has she ever seen him but she ask him to a date he accepted it . They loved each other so dearly and love was at its peak. Shockingly, Bloom had a new boyfriend, Lucas they loved each other very much it had been 2 years it had seemed nothing could break their love . Then, Lucas came up with a problem he had to go out for job for 3 weeks, Bloom had sensed that he had obviously left something out in his statement so she followed him to a creepy, old warehouse.

She then heard gunshots, she began to quiver seeing that her boyfriend she loved dearly was a mafia member, one of the guards caught Bloom and the Boss, Marco noticed this. She shouted, " Lucas, who- who are you?". The Boss said, " You know this girl?" ,Lucas replied truthfully not wanting to cause trouble. Marco said, "So it is either her or the mafia filled with us ( your brothers)? And you know the rules: You can never leave till death do part."

Lucas picked his lover but he knew once he stepped out of the warehouse he will be hunted for the rest of his life. He did so but as for Bloom, she cried not believing what she had just witnessed, was her lover actually her lover, she thought deeply. Lucas tried explaining but he couldn't even talk over Bloom's continuous tears, she could not believe her lover for over 2 years was a Mafia.

Weeks had passed, Bloom understood  Lucas' situation but she could not quite fathom the fact why it all happened. They had moved to over 20 countries knowing the Mafia was on their tail, planning their demise. They rested at a hotel knowing they will move again the next day, "Bloom I know you don't want to talk but ... "Lucas uttered. Bloom interrupted saying, " Just shut up! You included me into this nonsense and you can exclude me can't you, can't you! And there I was fooling myself by calling you - you , you ignorant fool." Lucas stared into the eyes of Bloom seeing this, he knew she no longer loved him and 'goodnight' it was but there was something off to Lucas, he ignored it and slept off. 

 It was a beautiful morning, it had seemed that Lucas had planned the whole day for them both; an apology letter on the bedside of that of Bloom's, her favorite flowers (lilies),etc. Lucas apologized and tried his possible best to make her understand why it all happened. He talked and talked, blah blah blah and then he ended with, "I hope you can forgive me and when you do, I want you to know that, I love you". Bloom bust into tears, understanding Lucas' pain she kissed him knowing it will be her last. Lucas slept well knowing that he was loved once more.

Next morning, " No no no no no no no! Bloom - Bloom! What have I done?" with sorrow and heartbreak in his heart, Lucas had woken up to see Bloom's motionless dead body. He knew it was the Mafia and with a vengeful heart, he planned to kill every last one of the mafia bosses leaving the Mafia to crash. Then he came across a letter written by Bloom saying; "  If you are reading this letter  I'm probably dead, after two years of happiness, I love you but I want to end your pain, Lucas. I know you love me and I do too but with the way life has turned out for us, our love will definitely bring our demise. I had always thought happiness starts with everything but mine started with you, Lucas. And  it won't last for long.
