Choso quietly reenters the house. He did grab some quick fast food and was holding on to a promise for better quality take out tomorrow. He finds her sleeping uncomfortably on the dining room table, a red pen still in hand. Why do you have to be so damn cute... Choso walks over and stops in his tracks. The urge to caress her face was overwhelming. His hand moved on its own but he stopped inches away and let out a breath. Instead he whispers, "Y/N wake up..."
He watches her stir and let out a tired groan. "Mmm." She shifts and the pen falls. Her head shuffles to the other side where ink decorates her cheek and he stifles a laugh. "Sweet girl, you need to go to bed." Choso says a bit louder and he grins when she huffs annoyed. He watches her eyelids flutter and slightly open. "Choso." She mutters in sleepy confusion. His heart ached at such an adorable vision and hearing her call his name.
"Yeah it's me... pretty girl you need to get up so you can get comfortable." Choso cooed and a soft lazy smile was her response. Choso was enamored at this moment, he worried that he would never be able to get over these overwhelming feelings for her. It was almost physically painful.
"Choso you're too good for this world..." She says her voice is still full of rasp from sleep. "Too good for me..." Her smile falls and her eyes close again. Too good... Choso did not want to read too much into her words. Throughout the years he constantly reassured her and she did the same for him. Why do you still think this way... Choso buries the rush of emotions and shakes his head.
Choso moved her paperwork to the side, pulled back the chair and lifted her up bridal style into his arms. She nuzzled against him and he looked away, unable to ignore the fondness he felt. Again her eyes fluttered open and her hand cups his face. You're killing me woman... "Y/N stop..." Choso tried to sound calm but he cringed at the shakiness. Her hand fell back and he sighs.
Choso gently sets her down into her bed and pulls the covers up around her. He looks down at her peaceful expression and smiles. As he turns she reaches out again to grab his arm, his body tenses. "Cuddles..." She says incoherently and it took all his willpower not to comply.
"I can't..." Choso responds, pulling back his arm from her grasp.
"Why not..." She growls annoyed and stubbornly. "We did it all the time as kids." Choso wants to scream but he swallows it.
"We aren't kids anymore Y/N. I'm a grown man." Choso said softly but it had a gruff tone. "Get some rest, pretty girl." She nods in agreement though he knows she is too far in the dream realm and won't remember this conversation in the morning.
Choso left the room as quickly as possible not wanting to look back. If he turned around he wouldn't be able to deny her request. Instead he goes to his room and locks the door, more as a physical barrier for himself.
Lifting up his cellphone he decides he needs a distraction. He pulls up Sahara's contact and texts her, hoping to be pulled into a conversation to avoid thinking about Y/N. After a bit of a discussion he invites her to dinner sooner than he had planned. I hope I'm not using her... Choso you're a bad person....
Regular POV
You sit up startled and out of place. You don't remember falling asleep and you surely don't remember walking to your bed. You remember a vision of Choso's face and figured he must have taken you here.
"Well shit..." You glance at the clock worried you were once again running behind. You let out a relieved sigh when you realize you were up earlier than usual. You grab your phone and notice Choso has set your alarms for you. He is the best... You smile and slowly stretch knowing you did not have to chaotically get ready.
When your mind settles from the confusion of sleep you decide to make your way to caffeine. Most mornings it was a hurried rush to the gas station for a cold coffee, hoping that the traffic was not too bad.
Choso greets you; he has small dark circles under his carbon colored eyes. "Pull an all nighter online when you made it back home? Arcade wasn't enough of a gaming fix?" You tease him while moving past for a mug.
"Ummm yeah." Choso says softly, not sounding like himself which causes your eyebrow to raise in suspicion. As you add sugar and cream you say nothing as you pour the espresso. You join him at the table and notice your papers were already placed in your work bag. Why is he so great....
"You're lying to me." You say sternly, raising the mug to your lips and taking a small sip. Your eyes are locking on him. You see him slump and your heart aches. You hate seeing Choso when he feels defeated. "Who bothered you? Who do I have to fight?"
Choso looks back at you and then bursts out in a small chuckle. "Y/N it's not like that I promise." You take another sip menacingly and watch as his wall falls down. You mentally pat yourself on your back. "I just felt bad that I got home too late to share food with you." A small blush forms on his cheeks and you gasp excited causing him to jump a bit. Ooo what is this...
"Who is she and when can I meet her?" You prod and his eyes widen in shock.
"Wah? It's not..." You watch him stumble over his words nervously. Adorable...
"My friend..." You say low and lean forward as he tries to avoid eye contact.
"Ok fine I did meet someone. We are going to lunch today." Choso states and you smirk knowing he couldn't hide anything from you.
"Wow! My sweet baby Choso has a date. That's great! We will have to double date if it works out!" You go on a bit of a rant talking quickly about places you could all go. You thought you saw a bit of hurt in his expression as you talked but he shook his head and laughed. You must have imagined it.
"Calm down! It's just lunch! Don't start planning a wedding or anything." Choso interrupts and you watch as he goes to stop your furious hand movements. You often talked with your hands when you were enthusiastic about something. It was a bit strange because he stops himself from gripping your wrist and sits back.
"You're right! Well you better let me know how it goes!" You say and stand to get ready for work. He assures you as you walk away.
You now sit in your small office, a student walking out and thanking you for helping with an assignment. You still had not heard a word from Satoru which made you feel irritated and upset. You refused to text him again.
Just as you grumble and shut your laptop a shadow appears and you look up. Pure fear shoots through your entire body. Your mind blanks as you spot pink hair and a sinister expression of a familIar face of someone you never wanted to see again. You couldn't speak as his deep voice echoed off the walls, "Hey pretty girl... you miss me?" Sukuna?! How?!
