the silence was cut off short of the three when someone knocked on the door breaking lan xichen's mediation

"Lan xichen can you open the door?"

It was lan qiren, his uncle is outside knocking on the door lan xichen panicked a little bit but it was unnoticeable by the two 'what am I gonna say to uncle about our situation' he looks at his nephew and niece trying to come up with a lie 'I'm sorry but I think I'm gonna broke another rule' lan xichen was crying inside

"Ohhh is that grand uncle knocking?" Lan meilli asked curiously looking at his uncle who is now standing up and walking towards the door

"Can you two hide for a while?" Lan xichen asked them eyeing the two, as he said that shizui has his eyes open

"Ehhh? Why?"

"Don't ask questions shen just do what uncle says"

"Hmph"

As the two went to hide but they can still ear drops as lan xichen and lan qiren talked

"I heard that you had a guest that you have not informed me about it" lan qiren stated stroking his beard

Lan xichen was now sweating invisible bullets on his face as he smiled at his uncle thinking of ways how to explain(lie) to his uncle

"Oh yes uncle i had a friend of mine sending her kids here to study"

"which clan is she in?"

Lan xichen is panicking and mentally sweating. He did not expect this question from his uncle, what is he gonna say now....should he just tell his uncle about the situation but then again his uncle would be furious if he tell him about it

"ah wangji" both lan xichen and lan qiren said as they bow to lan wangji also greeting back the younger lan

as lan qiren, xichen and wangji talked about a certain problem while the two future lans peeked quietly behind their hiding spot while carefully not to get seen by the three lans

"woah...ge, father look so cute" shen whispered at shizui while holding her squeal so hard while shizui quietly chuckle at his little sister's remark while nodding softly

wangji must have feel that someone is watching them he quickly turned his head at shen and shizui's direction making the two also quickly hide praying that the younger version of their father did not see them

Wangji slightly raised his eyebrows when he saw two figures on the corner and xichen noticed his little brother looking at something and realize that wangji saw shizui and meilli

While the other two who was hiding felt their heart skipped a beat and stopped breathing because of nervousness

"How's your night hunt go wangji?" Xichen immediately asked wangji so wangji's attention shift into him

And it did, wangji brushed it off and turned to xichen before nodding "successful, but I'd also like to talk about it xiongzhang, shifu" wangji spoke with his infamous stoic jade face

Xichen nodded with a smile "in that case let's talk to your room uncle" xichen said making lan qiren raised his eyes brows in confusion

"Why not here?" Lan qiren asked while looking at Hanshin luckily did not sense or saw the two lan hiding and looked back to lan xichen

"It would be better in your room uncle, I wanted to borrow some of your books and it would be convenient to talk there, don't you agree wangji?" Xichen wore the sweetest smile he could master as he turned to look at his little brother who got somewhat confused why xichen was asking

So confusedly wangji reluctantly nodded lan qiren unaware of the confusion of wangji that only xichen saw and chuckled quietly

"Alright.." Lan qiren nodded and brought lan xichens excuse while stroking his beard

Lan xichen looked at the hiding spot the two hid and smiled before closing the door on his Hanshin and the three of them walked towards lan qiren's room leaving the future lans in his room
