A woman in a long white nightgown entered a room that resembled a nursery. Her name was Mary Winchester, and in her arms, she cradled her four-year-old son, Dean Winchester.
"Come on, let's say goodnight to your brother and sister," Mary said, turning on the lights and gently placing Dean down.
Dean approached the first crib in the room. "Good night, Sam," he whispered, kissing his little brother on the forehead. He then moved to the second crib. "Goodnight, Lia," he murmured, kissing his sister, whose real name was Eliana. They called her Lia or Ellie for short, and sometimes, Sweet Pea.
"Good night, love," Mary said, kissing Sam and then moving over to her daughter. "Good night, sweet pea."
"Hey, Dean," Mary heard from behind her. She turned to see John Winchester standing there.
"Daddy!" Dean exclaimed, running into his father's arms.
"Hey, buddy," John replied, picking Dean up. "Think Sammy's ready to toss around a football yet?" he asked, looking at Dean.
"No, Daddy," Dean answered.
Mary left Eliana's crib and joined them. "You got him?" she asked John.
"I got him," John replied, hugging Dean close.
"Sweet dreams, Sam," John whispered, looking at Sam before turning to Eliana. "Sweet dreams, Lia." With that, he turned off the nursery lights and left.
Later, Mary was awakened by Sam's cries on the baby monitor. She sighed, turning on a lamp beside her.
"John?" Mary called out sleepily, receiving no response. She realized John wasn't in bed and got up to check on Sam, not noticing the malfunctioning baby monitor.
In the nursery, she found John standing over Sam's crib. "Is he hungry?" Mary asked.
"Shh," John hushed her without looking back.
"Okay," Mary whispered, heading back to her room. Along the way, she noticed a flickering light above a photo. Mary tapped on it until it stopped.
"Hmm," Mary mused, about to return to her bedroom when she heard the TV. Rushing downstairs, she found John asleep in the living room. Panic set in. Who was in the nursery if John was downstairs?
"Sammy. Lia," Mary called, hurrying to her children. In the nursery, she discovered a scene that froze her in terror, prompting a scream that woke up John.
"Mary!" John yelled, rushing up the stairs. Opening the nursery door, he found only the twins inside. "Hey, Sammy," he said, but then something fell next to Sam's head. A red drop fell on John's hand.
Looking up, John saw Mary on the ceiling with a deep cut across her stomach. Her mouth hung open, frozen in a silent scream. A fire erupted from her back, and both twins cried.
John grabbed Sam. "Daddy!" Dean shouted from the hallway.
"Take your brother outside as fast as you can," John ordered, handing Sam to Dean. "What about Ellie?" Dean asked.
"I'll get her. Now, Dean, go. Don't look back. Go, Dean, go," John urged before returning to the nursery. He arrived just in time to rescue Eliana as the fire spread. As he ran out with the children, the flames consumed Mary, leaving a burning house and a father with revenge in his eyes, watching firefighters attempt to quell the inferno from the hood of his 1967 Chevy Impala.
