Melody stared at the night sky through the coffee shops window, she'd taken the closing shift meaning she was stuck there alone till nine thirty at night when she'd have locked up everything and got everything out for the morning crew.
It was supposed to be her and her coworker mark but mark had asked to leave early so he could visit his parents and stay with them for dinner. That was around five thirty. And seeing as the shop wasn't busy melody had agreed.
The soft sound of the coffee machine and the music the girl was playing made her feel relaxed. She was currently behind the counter waiting for the clock to hit eight forty when she'd get up and lock the doors for the night so no customers would come in.
For once it was raining in LA making melody smile, she loved the rain and the way it hit the widows. Even the smell afterwards brought her so much joy. Sometimes she regretted moving to LA instead of staying in Washington with her parents.
The girl jumped when the bell rang from someone entering the shop. Looking at the time she frowned it was eight thirty three meaning the customer came in seven minutes till closing. "Hi what can I do for you?" She asked sweetly looking up to see two boys standing infront of her.
One looked slightly familiar while the other looked to kind for his own good. The one who looked familiar had dark brown hair that was slightly shorter than shoulder length and pushed back with his hands. While the other boy had short curly hair that was a light brown and rested above his brows a friendly smile on his face.
"Um I'll take an vanilla iced coffee." The light brown haired boy said smiling at her. Melody smiled back noticing how pretty his blueish grey eyes were. The other cleared his throat and looked around the shop. "And you?" She asked glancing at him question where she'd seen him from.
The boy just shook his head going to sit down on one of the tables while the other boy payed for his drink. "What name should I call?" She asked smiling softly at the boy who returned the smile immediately. "Karl." He said walking to sit next to the other boy who seemed to be deep in thought.
Humming melody turned around quickly making the coffee so she could shew the nice boys out and lock up for the night. Her back was screaming at her to lay down in her nice bed and sleep for an eternity.
Once she had finished the drink she called the boys name watching him end his conversation that almost seemed one sided. The blue eyes boy walked over to her and grabbed the drink, but before he could walk far he turned around and looked at her.
"Can I know your name? Or get your number?" He asked making melody raise a brow. "My names melody, and as sweet as you seem you're really not my type. Sorry." She said cringing at her own words that sounded so mean.
The boy laughed waving his hands around in the air at her statement. "No no! I didn't mean it that way! You just seem cool and I'd like to be your friend." He said softly making melody hate herself for assuming the sweet boy wanted her number to date her.
"Oh! Then sure here I'll write it down." She said smiling and writing her number down on a pink sticky note and handing it to the boy who smiled. "I'll text you sometime! Bye melody." He said waving while walking out the door his friend silently following behind.
But his friend paused at the door making melodys brows furrow at the action. "Um, it was nice meeting you. In person." He said looking back at the girl before quickly shaking his head and walking out.
The girl watched curiously as the kind boy named karl hit his friends shoulder and laughed so loud she could hear it in the shop. Melody got up locking the door and looking around the shop.
The silence gave her a second to ponder of the boys words. What did he mean by meeting her in person? Had she'd fallen to him online or on twitter? Or did he recognize her from her friends streams?
Thinking hard the girl paused. He had dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes. Freezing melody whipped her head to the table he had sat at walking over to inspect if he'd left her a note or something that confirmed what she was assuming. Nothing was there making her frown.
Could he have been the guy from her dreams? No way right? She never said the name of her coffee shop and there's plenty in LA. Sitting down melody put her head in her hands. If it was him she'd missed her chance to ask him questions.
His voice did sound similar to the guy in her dreams but many people could sound like that. It just had to be coincidence. That's what she was going to tell herself till she could fall asleep and talk to the guy. She'd be so upset if it was him and she wasn't the one to notice.
Huffing melody got up finishing her chores then walked out of the coffee shop making sure the door was locked. Turning around she walked to her apartment head down in thought. She was for sure not going to sleep now...
